What’s up fellas. Recently got my new 2021 XLT 5.0 FX4 and right away slapped methods 305’s and 295/70/17 nitto ridge grapplers.

Looking to go off roading this weekend at Bee Canyon in SoCal with @Tizzzo as we got the same truck.
At cold start, the psi is about 40, 45 when it runs.
What is the recommended psi to air down to when hitting a rocky trail? I see multiple answers online but looking for more feedback from you guys. Thanks! ?

Edit: while on the same topic, which air pumps do you guys recommend?

You should use the lowest pressure possible to give the largest contact patch without sacrificing sidewall rigidness that might allow the rubber/rocks to pinch a hole in the sidewall when the rim encounters a rock.

Did you end up airing down a bunch? Saw your trip on Instagram, looks like you had a great time!

Thanks for the response! I did air down. My standard psi is 40 on the 33’ nittos and went to 28. It was smooth ride for me and was perfect.

Thank you for this suggestion brotha! I ended up getting this same pump and I am beyond impressed of how fast it airs up! Awesome pump!
Thank you. Glad to hear it!

I haven't been able to use it yet. Just happy to know that I picked well!

It’s a dual pump design which is pretty cool, airs up super fast. Got me from 32 psi to 38 psi on one of my tires in under a minute ?
