Any insights on this setup with the powerboost? Interested to see what you think as far as fuel economy changes, comfort, and performance vs stock.I have a few more things to knock out, but for the most part done. Really happy with how it turned out!

I didn’t have a ton of drive time prior to this set up, but I don’t notice any material difference in ride quality. Feels planted to the ground. The MPG isn’t great right now (17 mixed), but admittedly it’s been in and out of the dealership for a variety of things. So haven’t had it and been able to go straight through a tank with me driving. The stock tire wheel set up was 83lbs this one is 88lbs. I was hoping to have minimal MPG impact, but I have a feeling even with the factory set up achieving 24 would have been tough on the highway given the extra weight on the platinum. I also have the full length sunroof and a tonneau cover on it. I’m going to make a 1200 mile trip with it here soon and can update how that goes.Any insights on this setup with the powerboost? I hand wash mine about every 10 days,Got a sweet lease deal on 21 Escape SEL Stealth in Agate Black to match my Agate Black F150 ?
Also, dam this color looks good (when it's clean)
Looks killer! Get yourself a Worx 600. (600cfm) 110vac leaf blower (like $59) Very lightweight and blows water off quickly. I use mine at DIY car wash plugged into powerboost truck outlet with a 25' extension cord. Saves 85% of the hand drying. They just came out with Worx 800 model that blows 800cfm. Others at car wash drying nice cars by hand towels yell out "that is cheating" with a laugh.I hand wash mine about every 10 days,
It's a job..
But as said,
It really looks sharp when I finish.
We are on the same page.Looks killer! Get yourself a Worx 600. (600cfm) 110vac leaf blower (like $59) Very lightweight and blows water off quickly. I had a difficult time with 2 of my cleats but finally just before my frustration let out some loud expelletives they popped into place.order timeframe:
Ordered 10/30/2020, arrived to dealer on 1/28/202 so about 3 months total and the dealer had me at priority 11 on retail order. It took 2 weeks from build date to arrival at dealer (Dearborn to NC).
Pricing:
I had A-plan price, so truck was 61.5k MSRP, A-plan was 55K, and had $2000 in rebates bringing it down to 53k ($1000 ford credit, $500 incentive, $500 military). Final OTD price was 55.7K with tax title fees everything (no trade-in, I sold my car private party for cash a week prior).
Initial impressions:
1. the red/brown lariat sport interior trim is much darker in person than in photos and online, initially I didn’t want it but now it has grown on me.
2. this is my first truck and it rides much smoother than I thought.
3. The 360 camera is extremely helpful when parking, I originally ordered a 2020 and decided not to get it, but since I switched to a 2021 and have it, I would have been disappointed without it.
4. This truck is SMART! Everything is so automated and intuitive, I’ve never driven anything this techy before.
what’s next:
1. Line-X
2. Ceramic window tint
3. Powder coat 18” sport wheels black
3. Wheel well liners, floor mats
4. Hard Bed cover
5. Extended warranty
regrets:
I got the tow tech package instead of trailer tow package to get the 360 camera included and save some money. Had I known this would max me out at 6,000lbs towing I wouldn’t have done it, I was hoping for the published 7700lbs towing. It will work for now but I am considering upgrading the front stabilizer bar in the future if I start towing near my limit. the payload is still pretty good at 1417 lbs shown in the door jam.
Questions:
1. Maybe I’m not doing it right, but I cannot for the life of me get the box link cleats in. I followed the directions and managed to get 1 of the 4 installed, but no matter how hard I pull up and wiggle it I cannot get any of the other in. Does anyone have experience with these getting stuck?
I’m going with the same level and tire to try and minimize mpg loss with the level/ tire change. I hear mpg gets better as it is broken in. I am also planning on venomrex wheels which will be lighter overall than stock.I didn’t have a ton of drive time prior to this set up, but I don’t notice any material difference in ride quality. Already slapped in weathertech hp liners, stubby antenna, replaced the license plate bulbs with LED, screen protector on that massive radio and currently sitting in tint shop waiting on XPEL ceramic all the way around.
Going for a more street/performance look so the following are on order.
- BAK Revolver X4s tonneau cover
- Roush CAI
- Roush Exhaust kit
- Ford Performance 22” rims (M-1007K-S2295GB)
- Toyo Proxes ST III 305/45R22
- Blackout front, rear (Ford symbol lights up with brakes) and side badges.
