Does anyone know what would be susceptible to rubbing more ? More sidewall or more width ?
Like say what was mentioned above . 295/60/20 vs 285/65/20 ( which one of these sizes for example would be prone to rubbing more?)
If running stock wheels you can run 285/65R20 as a number of members have already done. Some have run without a level kit but it's very tight. A level kit will give you a bit more room. If you are running a wheel with +20 offset with 2" level it will rub and I have confirmed this with American trucks and Custom offsets although, from what I have seen, I don't believe anyone has actually tried this combination. 295/60R20 will fit with 2" level but not sure about with no level. I realize it doesn't exactly answer your question but hope it helps.

might be a bit late but you could switch to a 275/65R20 tire to reduce poke by ~ 3/8" (10mm)
Do you think these would clear okay with the 2" Level? Makes sense in my head that they would, but to be honest, tire sizing is confusing as hell..lol

I have seen several posts that they fit on stock wheels w/o a level. Also Sam Mizer with the backroads youtube channel has 305/55r20 on a +12 offset wheel and 2" level - they fit, but just barely nik the bottom corner of the lower airdam - I think the 275/65/r20 in the same brand tire as he used (nitto) are .87 taller (so .485" in radius) - given this I suspect that they would fit on your +20 offset wheels - very slightly taller than the 33.93" you have and 10mm narrower (.39" narrower from center/less poke)

in any case the tire heights are nearly the same, but the edge of the tire is >3/8" less

The key to remember the tire/wheel are connected to the hub which rotates when the tire turns. The arc is the outer tire edge - so the farther out this is pushed (offset) or up (tire height/diameter) the longer this arc is and the more potential to interfere with crash bars etc

I have just put on toyo at3 295/65 r20 on stock wheels.
I have a 2” level kit.
There is probably a solid 1 inch from the crash bars in the front.
I would say you if I were to be at full turn and depressing the shocks fully I would rub against the air dampener and that’s about it.

Thank you for all of your info. This is great. You know your stuff. I just need to decide lol. Now with the mudflaps on, the poke doesn’t seem to be as bad as I thought.

Could you post a couple front & rear poke pics with your mudflaps on? I'm still on the fence btwn 285/60R20 & 295/60R20. Thanks

2.25" Readylift Level, 20x9 Fuel Rebel 6 with +1 offset, 295/60/20 BFG KO2 tires. Had to remove the front crash bar and trim the lower valence plastic just a little, but a 34" tire fits.

Great looking truck

Reading some people say there are concerns with the 2.25" lift (seeing as its a 2020) and others seemingly having no problem

Whats your thoughts/experience?

The 2021 specific is a 2" I wonder if the 2.25" 'issues' are an urban myth

Thanks

285/70/17 Toyo Open Country AT3 on +12 backspace wheels.
Good looking rig @mason1646

Do you have any lift/level on this whatsoever?

Reason I'm asking is i'm looking at almost identical build however with 285/75 17 with the 2.25" lift

Pretty confident it should accommodate without crashbar removal but your build is an educated guess at what Ican expect

Looks good - how much do they help with road spray?
The poke does not appear to be out past the mud flap no the steps - if the tires are not throwing rocks you might be good to keep what you have

I think you are right about keeping them. I just put the flaps on yesterday, so I am pretty optimistic that they will work. Im torn about switching tires as even though that other size you said should work, it still may not, and these do, albeit a little poke. I think between the flaps and putting a little stone guard on that lower panel, I should be fine.

yes - my primary motivator to change would be to save weight and get better mpg along with slightly less poke, but if you need/want the LT tire then you would not get that benefit

I have a 2” level. You’ll be totally fine with that size tire. I believe Wild Willy on YouTube had that exact setup.

Thanks, I looked the Wild Willies up and they have a similar one (in fact larger tire 295/60R20 which is a total 33.9in diameter) and it fits fine with the Fox 2.0 Kit

Would love to see more 17 inch rim 34 inch tire aftermarket builds if anyone has them

The fat sidewall is where its at for me... it looks great

In case anyone is interested this is the benchmark I am referring to above:
