That’s exactly what I’m hoping, that the 20s with properly tweaked pressure is no worse than the 22’s if not even a bit better.

The 22's ride like crap, you'll likely improve the ride a great deal with 20's. What did you do with the Limited wheels and take off tires?

Still have them new without a single mile on them in my garage (dealership did the swap before I ever took possession).

I bought a set of new take off's for my 2014 F150 for $200 at a local Discount Tire and that included road hazard warranty. I'm now a Discount Tire fan for life. I'm considering going to 18's or 20's this fall. Did I mention the 22's ride like crap?
