Adding trailer brake controller to 2024 F-150 Lariat

Well after a botched dealer trip and all day without my truck, I'm now going to attempt this myself. I've read this entire thread about 6 times and think I finally have my head wrapped around it, new to the ForScan side of things so that's my biggest hurdle. I have a '24 F150 STX and plan to order kit #RLEZ19H332AA. I noticed in Livnitup's spreadsheet the "TRM" tab at the bottom says 21-23, is that coding still valid for a '24 or do I need something else?

Try the values below in the modules indicated. Ignore whatever you have where the x's and dashes are. After making the changes reset the APIM (FORScan wrench icon).

I'm fixing to order the kit, so it'll be next week before I get around to making the ForScan changes.

@Livinitup I went to order the Kit and the local dealer is telling me the -AA suffix has been replaced with -B suffix; -AA is available and -B is backordered. Can I complete this with the -AA kit or do I need to wait for stock of the -B Kit?

First of all, many thanks to all who have pioneered this addition. I've learned a lot from this and other threads. I installed ML3Z 19H332-AB in my '23 XLT (3.5L Ecoboost, 302a, Class IV hitch, 7050# GVWR Package, 3.31 Axle) and enabled three TCM settings in Forscan. I can change the gain with the dash-mounted switch. My problem is that I don't have a trailer w/ electric brakes yet but I want to test to see that it's functional. I bought an inexpensive Tekonsha trailer emulator, but when I squeeze the brake controller my truck tells me that no trailer is detected. I suspect that the "emulator" isn't doing a very good job of emulating. Does anyone know if there is an emulator that works with F150's?

Well, I was able to clear the U0423 w/ Forscan, but the U2100 keeps coming back. What "initial configuration" have I not completed? FWIW, squeezing the controller or pressing the brake does supply power to the electric brake pin.

Sounds like you didn’t back up the unit you installed by break petal before you swapped it (TRM). You can hookup the old one without removing the bolts, just plugin the old one and back it up. Need to back up the old TRM, install new, load old backup and make change for new before writing the new unit. Take a look at my past post, Should be pretty easy to follow along. TRM should NOT have a bunch of FFFF, this is what a new TRM before loading backup and writing looks like.

Thank you! I changed the one bit from 0 to 1 and that cleared the U2100, *but*... Before I had three entries in the IPC easy mode - after changing the as-built I only had one, trailer brake controller - no gain setting, etc. The truck responds to a squeeze of the controller and changes in gain setting (still says no trailer with my trailer emulator), but I'm a little worried about the absence of those two settings. Also, should I enable TBA? That wasn't there before.

A couple of quick notes. I purchased the Motorcraft RL3Z-19H332-AA from Fairway Ford via Ebay (my local dealer said it was on backorder) and confirmed fitment with them by supplying my VIN for my December-build 2024.

Local dealer quoted $183 to install/program. At pickup, the invoice was $274 and they couldn't explain the increase, and they never called to express extra work was required/get approval, so they changed it back to $183. The installation looks good and all functions appear to work correctly, though I won't tow for another week or so.
