Reasonably sure these are the values. Refer to Livinitup's spreadsheet. Only two IPC changes, not three:

IPC:
720-05-02 TB enabled
720-07-01 TBC enabled

TRM:
791-01-02 TBMC PRESENT

Those part numbers are the service parts - the part numbers that are actually on the parts:
RL3T-19J295-BB Module box by the brake pedal
ML3T-043D62-AE3JA6 Switch on IP
Thanks for that! As for the part numbers, it isn’t showing up on Ford’s parts website (I’m in Canada) but the following 2 below seems to show up without issues:

—Trailer Replacement Module (replaces under footwell): RL3Z-19H332-A

—Trailer Controller Switch (replaces coin holder): ML3Z-14529-AC

Those are the ones. A little trivia bout the PN's, using prefix RL3T as an example, the first letter corresponds with the first year the part appears - R=2024 model year, the second two places are the model, in this case L3 is an F150/F250, not sure why they use T as the 4th letter for a production part, but Z means it's a service part, i.e., that's what you order to get the replacement parts. So the difference between the RL3T and RL3Z is that the Z is a service part. Similarly ML3Z was first seen on 2021 and is a service part.

All that said, if you order the service part, prefix xxxZ, inside the box will probably be the production part, xxxT.

Long story short, if you order a RL3Z-19H332-A, inside the box you will find a RL3T-19J295-BB. Likewise, a ML3Z-14529-A will have a ML3T-043D62-AE3JA6 in the box. Probably. But I include the production part numbers in case you want to peruse EBay or the local junkyard for these items, although I doubt you'll find the module since it has only been around since the 2024 model year. Chances on the switch are a lot better :)

So, yes, you are correct, from the dealer, you'd order ML3Z-19332-A and ML3Z-14529-A.

Never knew this; that’s actually good knowledge to know—thanks for that!

Perfect thanks again, I’ll have the dealer order it in soon as my parts manager is back at work due to the discounted pricing 😆

2024 F-150 Full hybrid Electric Vehicle 3.5L Powerboost
I just successfully installed my trailer brake controller and module on my 2024 F-150 XLT Fully Hybrid Electric with the 3.5L Powerboost (302.A trim). I got the truck without the trailer brake installed because they wanted $700+ for the add-on. Doing research, my truck already had the required axel for the added Towing package and the only thing needed was the Module and the TBC.

I ordered Part #RL3Z-19H332-A from Fordpartsgiant.com. What arrived in the package was part number RL3T-19J295-BB. $299

I got the TBC from Ebay Part #ML3Z-14529-AC. $70. What arrived was Part number ML3T-043D62-AE3JA6

Before installing new module, I used forscan to copy the old Module. Installed the new module and the TBC and loaded the old module code to the new module.
I used forscan to turn on the 3 trailer brake controller functions in the IPC module (easy enable Mode). Picture down below of the 3 functions to enable.

The programming for the TRM wasn't able to be programmed in easy mode....BUT, my brother just got the same truck with the trailer brake installed from factory. I saved his Module coding for the TRM module, and loaded it onto my module and Bob's your uncle, It worked!!
So instead of paying $700+ for the add on from factory, I only spent $369.

The Snip of the coding that I used for the TRM is attached. I am unaware if the Trm coding that I used works with everyone's module, but I hope it helps.

Thanks for this! For the TRM FORScan change, do you remember which line it was? Believe the change will be same across the board, I don’t believe there’s any changes between the XLT and Lariat+

It was pretty much Every line. Here is what it looked like before I loaded the copied TRM Module data.

I was able to save about 20% by ordering the module online from Varsity Ford in Ann Arbor MI. I was also able to order the part and go pick it up at the counter as opposed to walking in and asking for them to retrieve one at the counter. The module ended up costing me $216ish. Probably similar results for the switch. I know that doesn't help you after the fact, but FYI for the next guy.

TRM Module Coding Snip.jpg

Thank you for the information. I was planning to approach this problem using the same method on two 2024 2.7l 4x4 STX F150s we recently purchased without OEM brake controllers.

I didn't have access to an identical truck with the factory brake controller, so I found one for sale and downloaded the asbuilts from the motorcraft service site and compared them to our truck without the OEM controller.

Only three addresses have different values in them when comparing my trucks to an identical STX with the trailer brake controller. I plan to dump the OEM module, install the new one and restore the values, then only make the changes to match what I've got below. I have noted the differences between your truck and our trucks and some speculation about what is happening from the FORScan spreadsheet:

STX w/TBC: 791-01-02 1011 73** <--- 6th digit 3 vs 7, Your config enables PSCMEC, mine disables
STX wo/TBC 791-01-02 1101 32**

STX w/TBC 791-02-02 7FD5 F5D5 5D** <--- Exactly the same as your config.
STX wo/TBC 791-02-02 4015 5515 50**

STX w/TBC 791-02-03 51** <--- 2nd digit 1 vs D Your config allows DTCA, mine disallows it.
STX wo/TBC 791-02-03 01**

Aside from that, the only other differences from your truck are found in:

791-01-01 0100 0100 11 <---- 8th digit 1 vs 0. Your truck has trailer backup assist, mine doesn't. This line is the same on either STX truck, with or without the trailer brake controller.

Every other address in the TRM is identical between your configuration, my STX without the brake controller, and an STX with the brake controller, so I think only those three addresses above are important and they do vary truck to truck depending upon how they're optioned.

I was just hunting for parts for the second F150 we have and found there is now a part # RL3Z-19H332-AA Does anyone know if the part with the AA suffix rather than the single A is different? Perhaps it included the module and the switch?

@GuyWhoWorksAt Ford — would you be able to give a little insight to this?

Following up on my STX trucks:

I used the "easy" mode to enable the 3 trailer brake settings in the IPC.

Then I figured out that Forscan can write from a full asbuilt file downloaded from Motorcraft service directly to a single module, so I did just that instead of manually entering numbers. I wrote the TRM module using the asbuilt from another otherwise identical truck I found on a random dealer's website, except it had the factory brake controller. These trucks both are 2.7l ecoboost, STX, 4x4, with the 3.55 electronic locking rear diff. No other options, except one with the brake controller.

Below is a screenshot from asbuilt compare. The top value on each address contains the data from the truck I found and downloaded the asbuilt data for, and is what I wrote to the new module in my truck. The bottom values are all what was contained in the original TRM in my truck.

The brake controller works as expected. I didn't have a trailer handy, so plugged into a friend's travel trailer and it was detected, the lights work, the gain adjusts, and the electric brakes buzz when manually engaged with the dash control switch.

FWIW, the new module is 34 grams heavier and has what look like 3 transistor heatsinks exposed on the exterior of the casing, so there are definite, significant hardware differences between the factory module and the new module called out in the TSB.

Also, whoever said to wear gloves when swapping the under-dash TRM module, due to the sharp edges down there, was correct. You can guess how I confirmed this.

Confirmed. Just needed the TBC controller! Dealer charged me 1 hour of labor to activate.
I know I’m resurrecting an old thread, but my 2023 Supercrew Lariat with the 502a package and trailer towing package, does not have the Integrated trailer brake controller installed!!!

I looked and there is a module to the left of the brake pedal with 2 wiring harnesses plugged in. I have the 7/4 pin connections, and there is a harness going into the back of the small coin holder.

How do I know if I have the appropriate brake controller module? I don’t want to buy the kit at $285 dollars (which comes with the module, and the TBC) and only need the TBC.

I’m just confused that my truck, which has dammed near every bell and whistle, doesn’t have the controller!

Hi Matt

Check the part number on the module by the brake pedal. If it's RL3T-19J295-BB you're all set, just need to adjust a few things with Forscan. If not, order a RL3Z-19H332-A which will contain that part. You'll also need the switch, order a ML3Z-14529-AC - the box will contain a ML3T-043D62-AE3JA6.

Ford uses different part numbers for replacement parts - If you order those two parts, make the Forscan changes, you'll be all set. I used Varsity Ford's online ordering, it was cheaper than walking up to a dealer parts counter.

If I recall the semantics correctly, the trailer package is different from the towing package - the latter only gives you a class IV hitch and trailer lights. The trailer package adds trailer brakes. If the switch isn't there, I;m pretty confident you'll need to change the module and add the switch.
