Has anyone with a 2024 F-150 Lariat added back the trailer brake controller? I know there's 2 parts to change (Trailer Brake Controller and module) as well as FORScan change(s). I have 2 friends who's looking to add it.

Just wanted to verify if this is true before parts get ordered and what was the FORScan change?

My understanding is one module is installed you just need the controller. I am doing my controller this week. You do have to activate it. My.local dealer and one other believes the same.

So would just need to just swap out the coin holder and plug in the trailer brake controller, that's it?

Sounds good, keep me posted! Activation; just wondering if I can do this on my own via FORScan or FDRS without a dealer visit seeing they're booked well into next month.

I’m hoping! I did see a thread here earlier, can’t find it now; but stated someone installed a trailer brake controller on a XL I believe and activated via FORScan.

Was hoping to see if anyone knew which to active/enable.

Thank you! Also any chance you’d know the part number(s) for the trailer brake controller and module if you changed that too?

Thanks buddy! Do you remember the IPC bit or can this be changed through the non as-built way?

Yeah, there's 'easy' options to enable it. Not hard to find

Appreciate it! I will update this thread soon as I can get the part in. Here’s to hoping it’s not backordered lol.

I am in the same boat. Got my ‘24 Lariat PowerBoost Friday and was shocked it did not have a TBC. I would appreciate any updates such as where you bought one, how much, and where to go in Forscan. Only interested in OEM Ford device.

I have an OBDlink Bluetooth model but will have to borrow a Windows device and get a Forscan trial.

Sounds good! I will update this thread soon as I have it installed, which to change and verify it! Trailer brake controller will be OEM only for me too.

Just to update this thread, someone just posted a picture (not on the forum) they got their trailer brake controller installed by the dealer just recently, a few days ago. Fully functional and working. Apparently he didn’t get charged for it?

First part number shows trailer brake controller and module, second is apparently another trailer brake controller?

—Will need to look into this a little more. @HammaMan, thoughts this? 🤔

@Nightshade ... I believe that the two part numbers in your photo are as follows.

Ford part number ML3Z-19H332-AB is for the 2023 and older F150 trailer brake controller “kit”.

I believe that kit contains a dash mounted Brake Switch and a Trailer Brake Control Module (TRM).

The TRM in that kit is NOT compatible with 2024 F150 models.

Ford part number RL3Z-19H332-A is the correct TRM for 2024 models.

It looks like they ordered the older “kit” just to get the dash mounted Brake Switch (ML3Z-14529-AC).

I would think that it would be easier / less expensive to order the Brake Switch on its own, rather than in the kit format.

I had previously documented this information, as I want to add the Trailer Brake Switch to my 2024 RCSB XL once it arrives. For whatever reason, the “Integrated Brake Controller” was not an option when ordering a 2024 RCSB - but was an available option on the RCLB model.
