Hey guys, I have a 2021 RCSB 5.0 4x4 with the standard tow package. It does not have the integrated trailer brake controller. My understanding is all the trucks equipped with standard tow are like this, but there is a plug for one behind the coin holder piece that takes the place of the brake controller. Is this correct? Also, other than getting the controller itself and plugging it in (assuming the electrical connector is there), what else do I need to? I do have Forscan and have done a few things with it. Would I be able to use Forscan to enable the controller? I should have just ordered the tow technology package but I didn't. Thanks for the help.

I ordered my 21 XLT
It was supposed to have the controller, but it was inadvertent off the order and not noticed by me for awhile.
I called the dealer and rather than possibly screwing up production, the would add it when the truck came in.
The part did not become available for about 3 mo after I got the truck, but they installed for me.
That was 2 years ago, and I still don’t know if it works.
I’m still using the old truck to drag stuff.

You are correct, they all come prewired to add the brake controller and the pigtail is plugged into a blank on the back side of the coin holder. You will need Forscan to activate, I found a YouTube video on how to do it. This is not my video, but thank you to whoever posted the information as a resource for us!

Correct part number for KC builds is now RL3Z19H332B according to the Ford Parts online lookup. And it is back ordered.
