anyone successfully add these to an xlt? i don't have the 360 cams so curious what the forscan changes would be. i've already added the sensors and ran the wires. well, waiting for 1 sensor to get painted because some POS wrecking yard sent me 3 correct sensor and the 4th i believe they found on the ground somewhere.

Thanks yall

What did you use as a guide to drill your bumper? Or did you purchase a bumper with holes?

I like that you can’t tell I drilled my own holes. Haha

@Puffy929 was kind enough to send me these.

which got me close side to side and a perfect reference for the up and down.
I had the new harness in and clipped where it was gonna live and those pigtails are only so long so that helped with locating as well. I used a 1/2” conduit hole saw then a uni bit until they were the right diameter. The OP said he shaved the plastic on the retainer but I used a dremel and actually made all the notches referencing ebay bumper pictures to get the orientation correct. Once the hole is the right size, you can set the retainer in there and mark the notches if that’s the route you wanna go.

Awesome, thank you for this. I also plan to dremel for the alignment tabs so that they are "clocked" correctly. We shall see how that goes. I painted them last weekend, so hopefully I can get them installed this weekend.

Well, I got my sensors in this weekend (not working yet). Thanks to @Omodan and @PFXLT for their pioneering on this. Just a few notes and takeaways.

First I removed the trim/grill/bumper. I removed the bumper from the top. I marked where the nuts were before I removed them so it would be easier to get it back is the exact location (there is a lot of adjustment room). I used a breaker bar to break them loose then a ratchet to remove the nuts. There is not much room to swing the ratchet, but I didn't want to lay on the ground, lol. You can disconnect all the wiring from on top of the bumper as well to get it free.

Next I removed everything that was in the way: fog lights, active air dam, structural brackets (I left the radar attached to the bracket, and just removed the whole bracket). Then I replaced the harness one attachment point at a time.

Next I drilled the holes using pictures for reference and PFXLt's measurements. The retainers are marked (i.e. FIR for front inner right), the marking goes toward the ground and that will ensure the plug comes from the correct side. The plugs come from the outside. I used various bits until I got close and then used a step bit to incrementally get larger until they were just right. Then I sat the retainers in the holes and marked the alignment tabs. I used a Dremel to cut out for the tabs and they look way less professional than PFXLT's, but they worked, lol.

Now, I just need to get them working. I did all the forscan listed in the OP's post, but have yet to them to work. I know it took a bit for his changes to go through, so I tried resetting the modules after coding; but still no dice.

I do see the front sensor toggle in the APIM, but think my issue is in the IPMA. I ran out of time yesterday and do not drive it work; so hopefully I can figure it out when I get home.

Thx for all the info on here!

i can’t take all the credit, the measurements came from a bumper with factory sensor holes that @Puffy929 sent me which is also why the holes look perfect. Mine look like a crackhead chewed through the bumper. Haha
Did you rest the apim (hold power and >> until it reboots)
Also, my last setting that got it working was a plain English change in the ipma. Something along the lines of either parking aid >front and rear or front park aid > enabled

I will get a picture of the plain English change that needs done in the IPMA to get them working. I had my wiring off by one spot in the C242A connector so I had to wait on more pins to show up from Ford today. I should have this completed tonight, (Hopefully)

Cool, thx. Yea, I’m assuming it’s something simple since mine was pretty much plug and play.

Here is what I changed on top of what has already been shared.

And here is what I see when I get close to stuff up front.

I was close to my garage door on the back also.

If anyone is looking for the Harness and Sensors (4) at a discount PM me. My truck ended up coming in with the front sensors already installed (for my Lariat 502A). This would be for trucks with CO-Pilot Assist 2.0.

That’s the line I was missing. I had the code for 8 sensors but that “front” was disabled. Working now, thanks!

@Puffy929 The image you posted is what pops up? Your cameras don’t turn on? Should be an easy fix if you cameras are not popping up.
I don't have a front camera. I only have the rear tailgate and the camera for lane centering.

Couple of questions. I have a 302A being built but I already bought a 2021 IPMA from a platium that I want will use to add 360 cameras and land keep etc. I do a lot of city driving and parking so would likely build out the truck to whatever the ipma supports.
  • Anyone familar with the function of the two front 'side' bumper sensors on trucks that are equipped? It seems this is used for the active park maybe but I wasnt sure?
  • Same question on the the front BLIS sensors? Like when are these used and are they typically part of a 302A from factory or something I need to add if I want?
  • Does the BLIS sensor use the same front harness or is that a seperate harness - trying to figure out if I get a 6 sensor harness what connects to it?
  • On an XLT what is the likelyhood that the harness beyond the front harness would support 6 parking sensors (or even 4)?

    Thanks...
