Has anyone added the Ford trailer brake controller to a 2024? In my case is for XL single cab short box which is in transport so have not peeked under the dash to see what is already there for wiring. But seems likely it should be similar to the 2012-2023 I have seen online.

2024 part# seems to be RL3Z19H332B for KC builds and the 2023 part# ML3Z19H332AB shows as not for MY2024. So just curious if anyone has already done this before I order from parts.

Edited for corrected part number

I had the dealer install mine when I bought it.
This was early ‘21 tho.
Neglected to order the truck with one, so it needed to be added.
Had to also wait a couple of months for it to show up.

Pity Ford got rid of the Tow Technology Package. That was a nice option if you did not want to get the full tow package.

Maybe I will be the first for MY2024. Will take a look when it is delivered and check with the parts folks at dealer. Will update with what I discover.

It isn't an option for XL single cab 6.8 bed, just the 8.0. But pretty sure all the wiring will be there like 2012-2023.

I just popped the coin holder out and looked at mine. There are 4 wires "plugged into" the back of the coin holder --- see pics below in post #8---. The plug is about 1/2" wide and 1/8"-3/16" thick and I think it had 5 holes (didn't have my reading glasses on). I also tugged on the other wire bundles I could see, but none of them were loose. Hoping these are the 4 wires we need to install a TBC 🤞

How did you pop the coin holder out? If I add a TBC to my truck, I would like to pop that out without breaking the coin holder or chipping/cracking the dash.

I grabbed it by the protruding lip and pivoted it downward, as if the bottom was hinged.

Talked to the local dealer and he said the 2023 trailer brake controller kit would not work on my 2024 F-150.

Did some on-line research and found Technical Service Bulletin # 24-2117. Service procedure on page two applies, dealer followed these instructions, programmed the module and the trailer brake controller installation works fine.

Just checked out the 2024 we picked up (302a crew 5.0) and it already has the TRM in it but it doesn't have a TBC physical control lever. Given that the TRM is what handles the trailer brakes already, curious if simply adding the TBC control will make it work. Looks like it may need the dedicated looking at part numbers w/ w/o the tow package so perhaps not.

Part # from the TSB is RL3Z19H332A and is BOd

Ford seems to have finalized a 2024 retrofit package and the part number is RL3Z-19H332-AA. Which is backordered. Also requires $185 install purchase if you go through Ford Accessories. But some dealers have stock on hand so you may have to search.

Install PDF is attached.
