On the fence about whether or not I should add the tailgate step to my tremor order. Not sure id really use the workstation but I can see a need for a step with how ill be using the truck. Just not sure if its worth $400 just for a step. Anyone have this and used it? Is it pretty sturdy and worth the extra $$?

I have one on my XLT, it’s pretty useful I would say, my knees aren’t the best, so it helps getting in and out.

Depends on how good your knees are, I love tailgate steps and my knees are good still. I would add it if I were you, you wont be disappointed with it!

I find the tailgate step useful and don't even have any knee problems or whatever.

I have the worksurface in mine and would much rather have a regular, padded armrest in it's place. Those work surfaces in console models do have a padded rest on top, but with the column shifter, its just a hard, plastic surface that folds out. Almost never have a need for that, but do need an arm rest every day.

I wish I could have ordered just the step without the plastic "workstation" on the tailgate.

Likeability of the tailgate step is directly related to your age. The higher the number, the more you like it.

I didn't have the step on my 18 and regretted it. It was a must on my 21.

I use mine all the time. Was a mechanic for many years and my knees appreciate it. There are little corner steps too, on top of the bumper. Sometimes I also use the wheel spokes to stand on if I reach over the side of the bed.

I will say that the bumper steps on my old 2019 silverado were sweet and didn't get in the way when the tailgate was down when loading and shoveling mulch or sod, etc. Since the F150 doesn't offer that, I went with the tailgate step.

I'm only 26 and I love the step! Jumping onto the bed would get annoying after a while during projects. I had a lifted older ranger before this and hated having to jump on and off the tailgate and how time consuming it was to unload a fully loaded bed during projects. Now I just grab items and walk down the steps, easy! Also these new F150s are pretty tall.

Anyone find their tailgate step sticks when trying to get it out? Find myself having to pull or pry my fingers in a gap after hitting the button.

An aftermarket step will cost you almost $300. So $400 for the OEM step is reasonable. I like the OEM step but haven’t really found much use for the work surface.
