I know I've seen this issue posted on a forum but I cannot find it for he life of me. Does anyone else have issues with the active air dam not closing properly and it gets stuck like this?

Yes, I noticed that issue a couple of times when I first bought the truck. I bent it back firmly enough so it would close without interference and it seems to be fine now.

Update: it's not fine. Still does it.

Isn't it odd that we have to bend parts on a new truck to get them to function correctly? Are Ford engineers asleep?

I also tried bending it back but still have this issue all the time...I wonder if its because I leveled the truck?

I just noticed mine was exactly like this. I bent it back, but will see. Mines eventually going to the shop with a list of issues, so I have now added this. I also noticed the air dam seems loose and flimsy on both ends.

Just checked - mine is like this as well. Will make it a point to bring this up when I schedule my windshield recall appointment.

Looks like where they possibly chained it to the car carrier trailer.

Me too! Me too! I noticed it looks just like everyone's pictures. I mentioned it to the Service Writer on the phone when scheduling the windshield recall work...he is going to do research, so he is ready when I bring it in.

So, I hooked up FORScan tonight because I was going to disable the double horn honk, and when looking through the info, it had a DTC code that said my air dam was stuck. I grabbed the flashlight and had a look, and sure enough, mine looked just like others in the picture. I took and grabbed the upper "rubber lip" and was able to pull it out so it now appears to be back in position like it was meant to be. Crazy. I would have snapped a picture, but it was really no different than what is already here, and it's too dark to get a good one now.

So is there a permanent fix for this? Or will it get stuck every time it raises and tries to lower again?

Great question. I was oblivious to this until I was just messing around with FORScan and it told me of a DTC. Apparently, this isn't serious enough to light up the console with an error. I seem to remember that you could look at the details of the DTC in FORScan and I think I remember seeing where it noted that it doesn't rise to the level to display on the console. That's really poor describing on my part, but just going from memory. I didn't pay super close attention to it at the time because I hadn't pieced everything together yet. I'll be watching to see if mine gets jammed up again.
