1st post...
MIne also failed. The part that lowers rests behind the fixed upper air dam. When mine lowers the center goes down too far and gets hung up when it tries to retract.

That’s exactly what mine looked like.
Dealer fixed mine. Seems to be working again for now...

They (Lance Cunningham in Knoxville) are doing the same for mine. They are replacing both pieces and tell me the part numbers for both pieces have already been superseded, which I assume is due to this being a common problem.

Anyone with a 2021-2022 F-150 have the snow plow prep package? Wondering if it deletes the active air dam.

Does anyone know if this whole “airdam” thing is connected to the lower valence. I want to remove my lower valence once I lift my truck so that my underbody will show more. Will removing my valence interfere ?

So pissed. I’ll take a better photo in the morning. Hit a raccoon doing 50 miles an hour tonight on a paved road in the country. Trucks are too expensive, partially because engineers build ridiculous items like this.

Maybe you want claim against your insurance company, just like hitting a deer.

Plenty of coons in NJ for sure and they can be big. I hit one one night with my Toyota Sienna and it took out the whole front wheel well liner! I had to pick it up off the road. The coon came out of nowhere and I was doing close to 50 mph. I travel the same road with my new 2022 F-150 Lariat and I am guessing it has the active air dam as well.

I find it funny how many on here are apologists. Trying to make it sound like we are crazy for not wanting a delicate, expensive piece of plastic hanging down on an off-road vehicle. It isn't just the retractable part, but all this plastic. The bumper shouldn't have anything below it on an off-road vehicle. Now if this was on the normal, non off-road versions, I would be more understanding.

Parking on piles of snow in parking lots is going to destroy this.

Maybe they should have had this fully retract behind the bumper where it is safe and then extend down on the highway.

Here’s additional photos.

if you look closer, the bumper lifted on the passenger side. Just disappointed.
