Walked up to dealer and found an unspoken for truck that I liked had just came in, in late March, and have done a lot of driving since then.
Quite happy with the truck and engine overall. (Crew Cab XLT 4WD 5.0 6.5 bed, 3.73 gearing, 1800lb payload rating)
A good portion of the mileage were accumulated during a 16 day 5000 mile road trip from Chico, CA to Wisconsin and back, via Crater Lake NP, Glacier NP, Teddy Roosevelt NP, & Yellowstone and Grand Teton NP's. Looking forward being on the road in this truck most of next summer if work allows me schedule my sabbatical.
The numbers from this recent trip will be a good baseline to compare how fuel efficiency is impacted by the 500 lb popup cabover topper that will be installed on the truck. (Same topper that the TFL Truck guys put on the Lightning truck and drove to the Arctic Circle)
(Wind resistance is expected to add more negative impact than the weight)
