at what point is it best to cancel and wait for 2022 model?

The chip shortages will go into 2022 model year as well. It’s a roll of the dice on how long one of those orders will take. I ordered 12/28 and my new expected build week is last week of may. I’m not holding my breath on that sticking at this point.

Is this your all’s assigned build week?

Late June/Early July is normally when new model year production begins to change over and pick up.

I've ordered 2 previous trucks. This is my third. My 2015 ordered late July received in September. Same thing for my 2018. Last week to order an in season model is usually 2nd week of August. That means in season models are built until late October usually. So you could order a 2022....but on a normal year you will have to wait for the switch over in October for it to be built. Not sure that's worth it

I look at it this way; 1) if you already ordered a 2021, then you should be locked in at that price, 2) with everything going up across the board, what do you think the price hike on the 2022 is going to look like?

This is the main reason why I’m hanging in there for the long haul. Not to mention that I got a $2500 savings (in the mail) on a new F150 in January and expired at the end of March. I went to Ford Dealership on 1 March and order what I wanted, and yes my $2500 voucher well be good. It’s part of and in the paperwork I signed when I ordered.
