5.0L Badges added to Lariat Black Pack

Slapped some 5.0L badges on my Lariat BAP but it's tough to find fonts that go well with the F-150 font.

The goal was to add something similar to what my old 1988 Mustang GT had on the lower front fenders, the "5.0" badges down low between the wheel wells and the doors. Turns out our fenders have an odd shape down there and the emblems wouldn't fit flush. So I put them above the fender grill thingy. Jury is still out.

During my search, I saw some that looked similar to the "Ecoboost" badges on the tailgates of those trucks and figured why not do that, too? I've seen guys do this before on here, but I didn't want chrome and none of the color combinations or fonts really excited me, including the "coyote head" style. So I bought an all-black version, then realized you couldn't really see it. Fired up a gray paint marker, and am happy with the results overall.

Just some stupid fun in the boring winter months...

The fenders "5.0" looks waaaaay out of place, and out of proportion.

The tailgate one though, fits quite nicely and almost looks factory.

I still wish somebody made a fender vent replacement that incorporated a 5.0 Coyote badge. Like if you replaced the “Lariat” portion with the one you put on the tailgate while retaining the F150 part above it.

I think someone does make it, but I'm not sure what that replacement entails. They make the small piece that just replaces the "F-150 Lariat" wording, but it seems that whole vent is one piece. So no idea how that works.

I do agree the 5.0 is not ideal there. I had though about the doors, so maybe I'll get a few more and play around. Ideally, I wanted this look but the fender there is wonky. Maybe a smaller version will work if I can find one.

Found it on Etsy. I do believe these are just stuck on the side vents after just picking at mine a bit. I'm going to try these out.

Do you remove/shave off the "F-150 LARIAT" portion or are you supposed to stick the badge over the top of the existing lettering?

It looks like it needs to come off. You can flick up the edge and pick at it.

And you think that means I can't put the original one back on unless I get a new one from Ford?

At that point, just replace them with the WHELEN LED fender badges!

Mustang 5.0 badge right where the 6.2L V8 badge goes on gen 1 Raptor door looks the best from what I mocked up. Here is location.

It may look good on the doors, but they aren't really flat on our trucks. But like I said, a smaller version of the emblem may work there with the door contours.

I wish someone made an emblem with the "5.0" in the F-150 font. Someone on another forum made decals like that but I don't want stickers.

I would have put them on the door but my company logo now spans the lower front door so no badges. It was the only spot I liked. The OEM Mustang version goes well right inside the crease on the lower slab. Looked right in place.

I used the one from Etsy and blended them in before I painted them.

5.0 Fender Vent badge

I did see those before, don’t mind them but it would be cool to retain the F150 badge on the fender vent. Would be a more subtle and OEM look in my opinion. I was trying to get a friend of mine that works at a sign shop to do something up for me, but he’s always so busy.

Could you measure the length and width of the badge you put on the tailgate? Wondering if I could somehow make that work where I want.
