they keep giving both the regular cabs and extended cabs the short end of the stick.

Good luck!
Ford would have be able to get more of my money at time of order if they didn't skunk the reg cabs on some of the options available to super or crew cabs.

I'm guessing it just isn't financially advantageous for them or maybe that's' how you also funnel buyers toward a certain product your offering.

Still wondering what I would have done had they offered a 3.5 EcoBoost or Supercharged option.

Chevy is even worse with regular cabs. I don't understand how you can sell a truck in one part of the world but refuse to sell it here. Clearly there is a market here and you already make the product so what's the hang up?

I think a lot of people would want a 302a rcsb. Or even 5xx to get the awd.

Cooking burgers and hotdogs is not BBQing, it's grilling! Thx, All of Texas!
I don't know about other parts of the US, but... Back in October when my buyback was in progress, my dealer, customer advocate and I could not find a 5.0 3.73 RCSB or CCSB anywhere for 800+ miles in Texas. We found a few 5.0 CCLB that's it. Everyone in transit or on the lot had 3.31. Heck, even some of the Roush super charged 5.0's have a 3.31. The 3.31 is what Ford calls a Super 8 (8=8.8" ring gear, has 12 bolts like the 9.75" in the 3.73). The Super 8 has been around for years, the 9.75" is the new kid on the block.

It almost seems like Ford is saving the 3.73 for certain configurations now, like the Max Tow package with the full floating rear axles..... Maybe due to supply or maybe they have a surplus of 8.8 ring/pinion sets ;)

That said, I just towed with my '22 5.0 3.31 yesterday. Coming from a '20 3.5 EB, max tow, 3.55 and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I admit I was not expecting what happened after reading all the negative feedback about the 5.0 and 3.31, but... it did fantastic! My biggest concern was take-offs and would the engine roar, roar, roar, as it shifted, struggling to respond to my right foot, none of that, NONE, very composed and good manners pulling #5,100.

In other words, if you can't get a 3.73, it's not the end of the world. Would I prefer a 3.73, sure because of how I use my truck, but regular use with occasional towing the 3.31 did a great job.

Just my $0.02

I just got on the configurator and was able to select the 3.73 with 5.0, 4x4 and FX4. Looks like it’s working

I ordered the Platinum 6.5 ft , 4x4 ,and 5.0L Was able to include 3.73. Mine has been built and waiting for shipment to Granger. Estimate delivery Dec 3 - Dec 9. My original order was Aug 1, 2022. Check with your dealer to see what's up. Good Luck I don't know what the RCSB is, so I may not even be close with an answer. Just know I was able to get the 5.0 with 3.73 on my Platinum

My 23 is a regular cab, standard box, 5.0, 4x4 w/ locking 3.73s. It was built 2 weeks ago, waiting on shipping/delivery/whatever they are doing.

When I ordered the salesman tried to convince me that I didn’t need 3.73 and most people get the 3.31. Not sure why since the price was the same for all gearsets (500$ upgrade for the locker) at the time.

I can literally show you two different '23 orders of my RCSB with a 5.0 and the 3.73. I also just built one on the Ford website.

Maybe for earlier 2023 orders placed in 2022. I’m trying to place my order now, and was told by 2 dealers that the 3.73 axle option is only available for the V6 on the Regular cab.

Strange that the website will still let you build one with that combination. The B&P is notorious for being inaccurate though.
