The 5.0 badging is actually NO badging. According to a previous post on this forum, it is the only engine option that has no external badging associated with it.

i.e. (Powerboost, EcoBoost, PowerStroke)

Yes, but we deserve and look better with a badge, IMO.

We have a badge, it’s just on the air cleaner instead of a body panel. It’s the only air cleaner that gets any sort of designation on it, so there’s ur stinkin badge ;)

I still haven't remembered to look to see if my air cleaner has that.....

One of these days I'm going to bust out the grinder and get rid of the welds holding my hood shut!;)

I’m under the hood all the time. I’ve always cleaned the engine bay every 2 weeks or so since new whenever I do the interior etc.

Other than checking the oil when I first got it to make sure it wasn't an oil burner I've been under the hood maybe twice to put some window washer in.

It will be 2 years old in February and it has 18,000 miles on it now.

I should mention the dealership raises the hood when they change the oil. Or at least I hope they do. Who knows......

The Mustang gets a 5.0 badge and all other V8's by other manufacturers seem to have one so why not Ford trucks and SUV's?

I did hear that Ford installed bespoke V8 badging on Vanilla Ice's truck. That way he always knows when he is rollin' in his 5.0...

Also, I prefer my Corsa Sport pre tire exit exhaust to be my 5.0 badge. 😎

Chevy doesn’t have engine badges, TRX has no engine badge, Raptor has not had an engine badge since the 6.2L, and had no EcoBoost badge. The only engine badges in the the Raptor are the new “5.2L Supercharged V8” decal. Also, the EcoBoost engines do not have an engine badge “EcoBoost” designates turbocharging. It gives you no info about what engine is under the hood. You are reading too far into it imo. There is no “3.5 EcoBoost” badge. The only badge on the trucks that actually displays the motor is the R’s “Supercharged V8” decal.

Chevy still puts 6.2 badges on the side of their hood bulge. They used to put vortec and vortex max badges on the door.

Dodge puts the word hemi on every v8 truck they make.

The 6.4s say hemi 6.4.

Have you hit your head?
What Ford model displays the engine on the fender or hood besides the Mustang GT/Raptor R? The EcoBoost badging is generic across the lineup and doesn’t really tell you anything about the engine. It’s the same as a Mazda “Skyactiv” badge. Guess I don’t subscribe to the conspiracy Ford does it on purpose. I also happen to think those huge 5.7 Hemi badges are just ridiculous and hick looking. The GM 6.2 ones are ok, and low key.
