Hi, Accented Wanderer here.
Some background for this truck: I ordered it on 03/01/2021 and accepted the delivery on 05/17/2021. It is a 3.5L Carbonized Grey Lariat, all items fully maxed out except for heavy tow package. The modification began on July 2021 and was completed around early August.
What changed from stock:
Line-X bedliners
Rough Country Vertex Adjsutable Coilover - approximately 2.5'' front lift
Rough Country Vertex Adjustable Shocks in the back - a 3'' lift block is used to replace the factory block. (to keep a slight rake)
Rough Country Universal Light Controller - the switch was used inside and ran through firewall. Located at the little space right next to your leg below left of shifter.
Custom U-bolts from spring shop (see my past post for exact dimension)
Harbor Freight Pod Lights 3'' Floor. - the A pillar bracket was found on amazon and was perfect fit.
Harbor Freight 52'' LED light - the light bracket is jerry-rigged and basically a 1/4 thick steel flat. The light is mounted upside down.
Rhinorack 2500 HD bar kit for the front - the mounting brackets had to be modified.
Pioneer platform (52x56) in the front
Pioneer platform (60x56) in the back.
LT285/75R17 Nitto Terra Grappler - no rubs no trims with my suspension setup.
Icon Alloys Vector 6 Titanium 17x8.5 Wheels - titanium is the perfect match for carbonized grey.
30% front tint and no change in back. 80% windshield tint.
Bushwacker Fenders - this fits ok for 2021 and made this 50 state legal.
Overland Vehicle System - Nomadic Awning 270
Tepui Ruggedized Tent - 3 person version.
Cheap Amazon Recovery Tracks.
I home-made the turck cap entirely myself from steel due to certain stainless steel cap company not able bring their product over to the states. The thinnest part of the cap is 18 gauge, and for all other panels, 14 gague. It has a weight bearing structure and is 12 gauge in thickness. it can probably handle 1200 lbs of weight on top at least. I will attach a CAD and actual work to prove that it is true.
It weights about 250 lbs with door panels and plexiglass panels attached.
This project took approximately one month to complete with 2 people (total of 14 twelve-hour working days, and 3 people at the last 6 working days)
After installing rubber trims. This item had no leaks on the side due to rain channel design. But few leaks in the front was something I need to fix later. It made it through actual thunderstorm in Moab and had only minimal leaks near tailgate.
All of those pictures are taken from my August trip. You may recognize a lot of these places. Try your best. Hint: they are all taken in nation parks / monument except for that particular watermill photo.
The truck had survived 50mph mini 'baja' (just joking this aint close to baja at all) near Moab. A unintended jump near medona pass. Tight trails in CO with no scratches and this made it through the dunes. It is fair to say that this homemade solution had proved its worth.
My rear bumper was actually rear-ended at Chicago first 100 miles of the trip by some dude in the hood. Can any of you guys spot the damage? I cannot tell to be honest. But this payout might have me to buy an aftermarket bumper lol.
If you have any questions about the built, feel free to ask.
