Can anyone else with big ties confirm their gas mileage is as bad as mine even while driving on ECO mode. 3K miles in and still only getting about 13-14 and driving like my grandmother.
4" lift with 35s--I get about 12.5 on the highway.

Latest update from the pump 19 mpg over last 12k+ miles mostly high mountain passes (Kenosha and Monarch Pass on 285) 500-1000 miles towing (4k-7k pound Uhaul and flatbed full of lumber)

Wrangler Duratrac tires suspect they subtract 1-2mpg

I have a new Tremor, new to the 3.5 EB. I made a 100 mile round trip last weekend, highway with a some hills and curves averaged around 55-60 mph. Ran Eco mode there, got 18.7. Ran Sport on the way back and got. 20.5. Even though I was running much higher RPM's in Sport mode as I ran between 7-8 th gear, yet the mileage was noticeably better

Yeah I’m not sure Eco does much except lower the throttle response. I used to use it but switched to just using Normal all the time and didn’t notice any particular difference in economy.

Getting 20.5mpg on this tank with a quarter left in it.... driving in ECO mode.
Really happy, the 2015 Tacoma V6 doublecab I had before this would get 18mpg... was a 2WD and less roomy for the family (y)

When I bought my F-150 last year I had originally been planning to buy a Tacoma or another midsize. When I realized the F-150 gets better fuel economy for not THAT much more money than most most mid-size pickups the extra utility was clearly worth it. I think it probably says more about the fact that Toyota in particular just seems to refuse to improve the Tacoma, but the Ranger and Canyon/Colorado are also super dated, but I've still been fairly impressed with the 3.5L in the F-150. Not the advertised 23MPG but I think I could probably get it with better tires, definitely if I weren't driving hills all day. I was talking to a friend who averages 20MPG in his Outback and I'm at 19MPG in this over the last 12k miles, including some towing.

I'm running on factory Wrangler ATs. All is bone stock. I have almost 1000lbs in materials and tools that ride with me for my work. 22 long wheelbase Lariat with the 3.5eb and max tow package. This was my most recent fillup.

During the extreme cold and lots of extended idle time, it dipped as low as 18.3MPG. Recently the temps have been back to normal and mileage has improved.

I notice a lot of people calling the factory rake a "payload rake" when payload really has little to do with the actual purpose. The biggest reason manufacturers are doing it is for fuel economy. It takes less power/fuel to push the painted surfaces through the air. The factory rake helps prevent the undercarriage from creating a bunch of drag. Simply leveling a truck will hit the MPGs even if you keep the stock wheels and tires.

Ford has some posters in some of their dealerships that show all the F series designs in profile (I'm sure it could be found on the web as well). If you see one, make note that the increases in "payload rake" have also been on the designs that also rake the windshield at a steeper angle. Primary reason for both is fuel economy.

According to the dash I’m getting 17-18 mpg with about 1600 miles on it. I know that’s not great but I’m hoping as it breaks in more it will get better. That’s bone stock.

Is it as good as my 18 2.7? No, I think I got about 20 in that one. Is it better than my 2020 5.0? Yes. I think the best I managed to get was 16-17 on that one.

I’ve tried eco mode, didn’t seem to do much, tried sport mode, can’t really tell if it’s better. So just keep it in normal most of the time. I think the best it gets is when I follow “eco coach” but what fun is that? Lol

Wow! I have the same setup, and hope I can get mine up to that. Over the first ~400 miles, I've gotten it up from 12.2 to 15.5 mpg.

Has your mileage always been that high, or did it slowly creep after breaking in?

It started somewhat low, but after a few hundred miles it was up to where it is now. During my second tank of fuel it got up to 20.3, but then the cold weather struck and dropped it down to 18.3. Now it is hovering between 19.4 and 19.5. I expect as the weather continues to warm back up it will get back into the 20s.

My daily driver is a 2015 4 x 4 Crewcab 157" WB with 3.5EB, 6 speed transmission, 3.31 differentials, the big dumbo tow mirrors, & originally sized Michelin Defender LTX M/S 275/65R18 Tires (3rd set now.). Back in 2015, there was no option for an ECO selection on the transmission & just about all of my miles have been in normal mode (My only other choices are Sport & Tow/Haul). I have probably only towed about 2k miles total with this truck. It currently has right at 215k miles on it & has averaged out to 20.6mpg, over its full life. When the weather is colder, the mileage goes down a little. When the weather is temperate to slightly warm, it does somewhat better. I have had full tanks do as good as 23.5mpg, when I particularly babied it along, & conditions were just right. At 80mph on the interstate, it gets 19mpg or so. Generally, I drive like I am old, because I am. I have been very pleased with the mileage this truck has consistently delivered.

Right or wrong, I believe that vehicle maintenance really does matter. Properly inflated tires, clean air filters, tune-ups etc. dramatically affect fuel mileage. My truck had an ESP for the 1st 4 years. I have kept up with, or exceeded, the recommended maintenance schedule, since the ESP ran out.

My mileage started off lower & increased slowly for about the 1st 30k miles. When I crank it up cold, mileage for the 1st 5 miles or so, is consistently awful. This engine has to get warmed up to deliver its best mileage, & that works out well for me, as I normally run fairly long trips. I have definitely seen a very noticeable mileage boost anytime that I have replaced the air filter, spark plugs +/or the ignition coils.

I’ve recently started driving my truck to work. This is a lot of stop and go plus a 300mi road trip over the last 1k. No idea how accurate the computer is.

I measure actual with Fuelly and it’s typically off by between .5 and 1 mpg. In my experience it’s actually usually more accurate on flat highway driving and less so when there are more mountains and city. Given that high a number my guess is a lot of it is driven by flat highway and so you are probably beween 21.5 and 22 - pretty good!

Went on a 600 mile road trip this weekend about 1/2 on flag 75mph highway and 1/2 2 lane 70mph high desert/alpine passes. Computer said 21 overall for the trip. Got gas at start of 2 lane section and over 300 or so miles averaged 21 on the computer 20.5 on the pump. The 150 miles sense was more or less flat (Waldenberg to Denver) and computer read 23.5. I might through gas in it today because even though not a ton of gas burned I’m mostly just curious.
