Had the stock Goodyear Wrangler Territory AT's that weigh 38 lbs each as measured by my bathroom scale. Just had General Grabber ATX 275/70/18 116S SL installed by Discount Tire and they weigh 44 lbs each per the General website for this exact tire. Short 18 mile drive home told me that the new tires ride noticeably smoother than the Goodyear's and only slightly louder. I doubt anyone could tell that they are louder but I was able to do back to back driving and notice the difference. My speedo reads 60 mph and Waze shows 62-63. I was only off 1 mph before the tire swap.

I've reached out to General to see what their recommended tire pressure is but for now I'm assuming 35psi (same as stock).

I'll also add that on my last trip of 239 miles the computer said I got 22.2 mpg but my hand calcs based on the pump resulted in 21.45 mpg.

Here is the old (first two pics) followed by the new...

Do you have a lift or level on your truck? Your setup looks amazing, but I'm at least a year or 2 away from my accounting department (wife) allocating me the funds for a lift lol.

great swap. I am looking to do the same, although those tires are hard to look up online. Only E rated seem to appear.

Did this truck have a level or lift. Sorry to revive an old thread but this is exactly the direction I want to go.

Also interested in your experience after a couple of years. Want to make the exact same swap and worried about noise. @Littlefield82

I'm at about 29,000 miles on the tires. No complaints about noise at all. Have not done much off roading so may go to a less aggressive tire when these wear out. I do still love the look of them though and they are light weight for what they are.

Thanks a lot for the update @Littlefield82 . While we've got you, can you update us on the MPG? Finding someone with back-to-back experience with stock Territories and SL rated 275/70/R18 is more rare than finding tires in that size.

On my '22 502A PB with FX4 on stock Goodyear Territory 275/65/R18's, the best I get is 18mpg. My theory is with your swap (to 70 aspect ratio) the slightly larger diameter will help MPG by lowering rpm's on the highway, and maybe (?) make-up for the added weight. Trying to thread that needle with grabber ATX's, and hold my nose at the 50%+ reviews that gripe about balancing and noise.

Last question: any feedback on wet performance? I'll drive in snow or offroad 1% of the time, but wet highways will be more like 20%.

Zero issues with balancing noise or uneven wear. I trimmed the rubber chin spoiler and completely removed the active air dam. On my trips to work I'll get 22-23mpg with part hwy and part city so I'm getting some electric mixed in. On straight hwy at 65-70 I'm getting 20mpg. I pretty much avg 19.8 mpg since I've had the truck. Don't drive hard or easy..just drive. Lots of short trips mixed in as well since I work from home most days.

I mean I can spin the tires easy as butter from a stop or slow roll, but never once had an issue with hydroplaning, or any other issue related to weather. They did great in the snow.
