If you regularly tow 8-10k pounds, you should probably consider a F250/F350. Where the F150 is rated and capable, I wouldn't choose it for regularly towing at the upper end of its limits. Plus now the new 2023 F250/F350 has all the new tech the F150 got in 2021, so...that is my 2cents.

If you want to tow with a v8, the Gm 6.2 would be better engine imo. Prob not a popular thought here and obv factor what you like in the rest of the truck. But just something I noticed by owning a 5.0, 14+ 6.2, and now ecoboost
Recently the GM 6.2 has been having issues eating its own valvetrains. I personally have heard of two people that have had issues with it. One friend had a brand new truck that destroyed one side of the engine, he asked if they could just replace both. Dealer said no only the side that was having problems. Two weeks later the other side destroyed itself. Of course because of parts shortages he is stuck in a rental kia sophia while his GM Truck with 5,000 miles sits in the shop.

It's so bad that GM actually I believed stopped shipping the 6.2 for a bit. So yeah, maybe not the best choice to go 6.2 GM right now.

I'm kidding on the Kia Sophia, I believe he has a Chevy impala or something, not kidding on the GM 6.2 Valvetrain issues. https://gmauthority.com/blog/2021/12/gm-releases-valve-lifter-service-update-for-v8-engines/

The 7.3 is a great puller. A family member just got one and is sold for pushrods now for pulling heavy loads.

also he traded a f150 3.5 for it. He said power wise, the 3.5 would pull it very well too. You’re leaning on the turbos to do it tho

I believe there was an identified run of lifters from the supplier that made its way into a number of 2021s. Not all 2021s. If you do not have a 2021 this does not apply.

the engine has been in service since 2014 in Silverado, full size suv, corvette, Camaro. There are a ton of units out there
Fair, I know there are at ton of 6.2 variants out there. I do love the engine, we have one in our boat lol.
