Looking back the time I spent building a harness for each door it would have been worth it to buy a harness I’m sure, but I only needed power extend. I have a lariat with power fold but no 360. I can give you the vin, but you won’t find one with power fold and power telescope with no 360 because the tow mirrors with fold come with 360. When looking for tow mirrors for my truck they did not make power fold without camera, dealer claimed they found that option and when they tried them, they did not work.
So your 23 lariat had power fold? What about BLIS, puddle, and spotlight? Did it have those, just missing the camera? Did you happen to take a pic of the mirror connector before beginning? Curious if it had the memory wires on it. A picture of the mirror harness before you began adding would help out a lot.

Your understanding is that the tow mirror option was only possible if it had 360 cams? I believe 1 of the 4 mirror packages sold by ford parts is a power fold / telescope w/ no cam, but I'd have to check.

Everything on the mirrors including memory except cameras. It came factory with small paint matched mirrors not tow mirrors. When I added tow mirrors and had to fork out $1600 and they came with cameras, that’s what motivated me to add the camera system. Don’t have a great pic of the harness before but it was 22 pin of course with door modules.

Okay, it looks like you only had to add in the tow telescope connector and the 2 wires to the mirror for telescope features. I was hoping to see you had a harness complete less the camera run. You already have the memory lock plug and the 3 memory wires on the mirror. Had you known you were going to utilize the cams, buying a platinum door harness would have made your life much easier. You could have just scavenged 2 wires from your factory harness to add on the passenger side and been done with it. (though still needing a the cam wire from another harness)

I've pretty much added everything to my XLT including memory, heated / cooled seats, massage, 4a transfer case, and power running boards. It came with cams and assist 2.0 already -- those 2 features alone were the reason I owned my first one for only 5 days.

Wow that’s a lot of work. I only have about $70 total in materials for wiring both doors for cams and power extend. There is no other connectors, just more wires pinned into the connectors at the door modules and mirrors. I did all of the work at once.

Anyone know what it takes to get the drivers mirror to auto dim on a XLT 302a after swapping to loaded mirrors from a Lariat? I installed loaded mirrors as I wanted power fold and the drivers one doesn’t auto dim. Didn’t know if I was missing a wire.

Does anyone here know if I were to get the memory seating switch w/ door lock and wire it to where it would only adjust the mirrors (since I have fully loaded tow mirrors) would it be doable? I know to get the memory seats you would need the seat module but I’m curious about the mirrors being memory

It sounds like you are missing a wire. You will need to go to motorcraft service and pull the schematics for it. I remember seeing that circuit. Since you have an xlt I’m not sure if it comes with door modules or not.

Hey guys so I went into forscan today to enable global windows and I saw this dtc in my DDM. Everything works as it should, so I’m not sure what is causing this?

*edit I did reset the dtc so I’m not sure if that’ll do anything

So I have a 21 XLT and I’ve always wanted to have power fold/extend tow mirrors. I know I have to switch over to the Ford tow mirrors w/ part # ending in “DA”. After looking at the wiring schematic online & using my electronics degree knowledge I think I have a figured out a wiring diagram to get them working. So here is what the connections should be (see picture). Just need to then go into Forscan and get the modules set up correctly. If this all works out should be able to keep this job under $2K. I will update when and if this all pans out

I bought a platinum's door wiring harness and just took all of the appropriate wires and moved them over to mine. I added both memory, folding, and telescoping functionality. Memory requires the locking button and trim plate. Slide and fold require 4 wires in total (per mirror), if adding memory it needs + 3 wires and a different connector for the driver's locking button. This is the reason I just bought the door harness as it had all of the parts ready for immediate swap over.

Now that it's complete, I now have several spare connectors and pre-terminated wires for other 'projects'. As for 'pin removal tools' -- just take a paper clip and flatten the end of it it a little bit. Come in from the back side, insert it until you feel it getting pinched by the plastic retention nub, give the PC a slight twist and the wire connector slides right out. Takes maybe 5 seconds per connector at most?

ml3z14631h is the driver door wiring harness ($140) -- you can replace the entire harness if you want and then use your 'old' harnesses wires to jump everything in the passenger door. Again my go-to connector removal tools are paper clips. For precise 'smashing' I used my large wire connector crimping tool. (a better choice of door harness for part scavenging would be a lariat w/ folding mirrors but no 360 cams, if such exists -- but I'd have to bug one of those w/ access to the dealer parts catalog after finding the vin of such a truck to get the exact harness part number)

My paper clip tools (I have 20 different wire / connector tools, I've found the paper clips to be the best though) -- A quick drag across a 120 grit sand paper creates the chisel point / tips.

Do you know the size of the female connectors? I want to build my own wiring harness. Thanks.

Yeah, access to the documents is restricted.
To which documents? Shouldn’t be, I have had plenty of others use it even today.

Greetings all....I just purchased a lightly used 2021 F150 Lariat Powerboost. It came with a ton of options on it including the Max Towing package which I wanted to pull a Travel Trailer. The truck came with the standard mirror package but they were power adjust with BLISS etc. I wanted to add Towing mirrors, so I found a pair/kit from a Ford dealer online and installed them earlier this week. The install went well until I got to the power extend part. The kit I got has the power extend switch included with a new trim piece for the drivers armrest. Unfortunately there is no wire available in the door to make the connection to the switch. The only unused wire (2 wire with a very small male clip) I found was attached to the black plastic trim piece that covers the 4 nuts where the mirror attaches to the truck. Not sure what these wires are for? I'm trying to get the mirror slide/extend feature to work. My questions are these:
1. Does the wire assembly jumper that HammaMan mentioned come with the correct male plastic piece that would plug into the switch?
2. Also, is this jumper basically a plug and play with the existing wiring harness if I were to take the original out.......does this one plug into the original.
3. Do I need to buy another jumper assembly for the passenger side also, or will the driver side setup take care of that once the necessary wires are connected to the switch?

I'm really not into cutting the heck out of the existing wire harness....don't have the skills that some of you have mentioned (I'm impressed!). I'd rather do something like HammaMan did. Many thanks for your thoughts in advance. I'm new at this Blog thing....but after trying to work with a local Ford dealer and getting the "sorry we can't do anything for you" line, I figured I go to the experts on this site. Thanks again for any help you can send my way!!

You answered your own question. You will have to use my documentation posted above to wire the power extend switch into the DDM and then wire the mirrors to the DDM and PDM and turn the power extend and mirror running light features on with forscan. OR you can try and find a harness with all of the wiring and run it and then use forscan to turn on the options mentioned above. I don’t know of anyone that makes a pre made harness. It was simple to do but it does require a splice in the drivers door harness.

Many thanks for the quick reply Tlusk7! I have a local guy nearby that is a genius when it comes to 12 volt electric stuff. I may reach out to him using your guidance. I was hoping that the ml3z14631 wiring harness that HammaMan mentioned (oem for Platinum) would basically be a plug and play. When I switched from the original smaller mirrors that came with the truck to the towing mirrors, everything worked perfectly without any reprogramming (Forscan) ....puddle lights, heated function, running lights, auto dimming, BLISS etc. Guess I lucked out on that part of it.
