Hey all,

My girlfriend was coming home from the Grocery Store earlier and asked me what the whistling/scraping noise was coming from the truck. She managed to take a short video that captured some of the noise.

It was present while driving straight and when turning. At first it sounded like the sound you get sometimes when there is rust on the rotors but there was none. There was also a whistling sound (which she wasn't able to capture) and also a burning rubber kind of smell.

We've had the truck for a month or so, 1,100 miles on it, this is the first time we've ever encountered this. I'll be contacting the dealer tomorrow, but figured I'd see is anyone here has any ideas. I'm pretty dumb when it comes to this stuff. lol

In the video, you can really hear the sound get louder around the time she turns her turn signal on, just a few seconds into the video.

I do believe the whistle sound is the transmission. Should hear it when going slower and when you take your foot off the gas while going slower. I think that sound is normal if it is a real faint whistle. Almost reminds you of a diesel decelerating, but quieter.
The rubbing/grinding noise on the other hand is not something I’m familiar with being a fellow BW owner. Especially if it happens going in a straight line. Only rubbing I had was from the front tires hitting the front bumper during turns and compression of the front end. But the noise in the video(although hard to hear) did not sound like that. But could be if she was turning.
If you have one of the first BW released to the wild from SCA, you may have a bumper rub issue as well. If you send picture of front bumper sides near footwell, I could tell you if you have a rubbing issue or not.

Hey bud, it's not whistle from the transmission, I'm already aware of that one haha!

I just took it for another ride and took a longer video. You can clearly hear the squeek/whistle and that other strange noise from the first video.

Here I'm backing out of my driveway, and driving forward at around 15mph. It sounds pretty horrible. :(
