Other than more deletions every year and different color options, is the any visual differences in the 3 years? Grill, interior, etc? Other than looking at the build date on the door jam, is there any other way to tell?
Somewhere in here there is a post that covers a number of small changes like plate light is no longer led, cup holders lost the little mechanisms, heater knobs changed, ....

I think the rear wheel well air deflectors were introduced for 22+ models so that may be a visible indicator of whether it's a 2021 or a 2022-23. I ditched the ones on my 2022 as I thought they looked odd so I guess you really can't judge a book by its cover.

My 2021 has them. It was built in KC.

My 2022 has the rear wheel air deflectors/stone guards, built in Jan. '22 in Dearborn. It's interesting that when I plugged in my model year at the FordOemParts.com, it tells me they won't fit a 2022 but when I change the model year to a 2021, it does say these parts will fit. https://ford.oempartsonline.com/cart

Right. I was more interested in visual changes. Doesn't look like there is any. Don't know of any other vehicles in history that didn't have something in 3 years.

I kinda like that my ‘21 still looks like a new truck!

If I was buying a new vehicle in 2023 apparently all I can afford is whatever the hell this is lol

If I'm not mistaken, the 21's had the fingers in the rear cup holders and the 22's and up did not. Though they were cool so I swapped the ones with the fingers into my '22.

Ok I bee trying to find some since everyone don’t like them
You can order them from Ford. I don't care for them bought the truck used and one side was already broken from getting caught on something. Replaced with the flat version.

The only sure fire way to see if it’s a 2021 if’s if it’s never gotten an OTA o_O

I’ve given up long ago if anyone was wondering..
I don't know about never but seeing lots of posts like mine that were stuck at some point in OTA process. Funny thing is updated with FDRS and truck still hates OTA. It failed to install recent updates. Oh well.

there seems to be a TSB floating out there where they will replace your APIM but I’m not sure if that helps any

my truck runs great, shifts way smoother than when I got It so I’m leaning towards just not doing Anything

I had my APIM replaced in February. I think it has updated once since then. Maybe.

Post your VIN in the lookup thread so the helpful people here can look into it. Most likely manual updates are needed but if you have a Bluecruise truck then Ford will give the dealer a little money to do it under the program they created.
