When I took a tour of the truck plant in Dearborn a month or so ago, the tour guides said that they were in the process of changing over to the 2023 model year, but still were running 22s through the factory as needed (so they were interspersing 22s and 23s together in the line at the same time). The tour guides said that they could tell 23s from 22s by a slightly different hood design. They tried to point out the difference to me, but I couldn't see it, so I suspect that it's something that most people wouldn't notice either way, even up close.
Was it hood fit that was changed or hood design? Do you recall?

EDIT: I’m an idiot, i clearly didn’t read your post lol.

do you recall what part of the hood had a design change?

I think the rear wheel well air deflectors were introduced for 22+ models so that may be a visible indicator of whether it's a 2021 or a 2022-23. I ditched the ones on my 2022 as I thought they looked odd so I guess you really can't judge a book by its cover.

those have to be the ugliest things ever hanging off a truck

maybe the 23 hoods are less prone to OMG its coming off shake when you get passed by a 18 wheeler . i tell you my pucker factor goes up everytime i see it jiggling around like,,,today is the day it flies off

They said that it was a specific way that the hood folds were aligned.

Ah, so it’s hemmed differently. You can probably only see the difference with the hood open

They were (allegedly) able to see it from 20’ above the assembly line, so maybe not?

Of the things I know for sure, is that you will be able to tell if it’s an early 2021 if the rear axle housing is super rusty! :p
My early '22 rear axle is super rusty. I should probably get that taken care of.

Ah ok, I thought you were referring to the hem under the hood, but if you can see it from the outside then nevermind

22s (and I would assume 23s) with full length boards don't get the fins.

My 2021 job 1 truck came from the factory with the offensive air deflectors! There is a thread here on the forum with part numbers to change them out for the non deflector version.

yup they made no visual sense at all

those warts in front of the rear wheels seem counter productive, unless your in parts department looking for sales of smooth parts 🤗 🤗 maybe that was the reason to stick em on some trucks

In 2015 I bought a new Silverado from a dealership about four hours away. I must have pulled over three times on the highway coming home to make sure the hood was latched properly. Aluminum hoods certainly have a lot more movement at speed than the old steel ones.

I have a Sirius/xm delete and I have both of them the right one I had to change to a different antenna that had the Sirius piece in it.
So was it just a blank cap just to match the other side?

You might need to adjust the little bumpers in the front so the hood has a more positive connection. The hood on my PB does not move at all that I’ve seen.
