2022 F-150 Lariat PB 7.2k, 4x4 502a Atlas Blue BAP
A little underwhelming if you are a Lariat fan. :( Some nice things but some big deletes.

I was looking to order a lariat next year, what did they delete from last year?

I was comparing based on my 2022. It looks like the HUD is not available. Leather may not be there, but I have to look deeper. Power deployable running boards are gone too. Maybe better info will come out as people dig more into it. Also could have been gone in 2024 as I did not check those.

With that said my Lariat is fantastic and now it seems that the King Ranch will be the more feature packed level.

Build and search, replicating what I just ordered and rec'd (24 Lariat PB 501A BAP) here are some differences
1. It's almost $5k more expensive
2. The Driver's side Keypad now is a selectable option ? ($495) and is dealer installed ?
3. Retractable rear center step is a selectable option? ($430)
4. No Credit this year for Powerboost 3.5L ?
5. No 3 year option for BlueCruise, it's now 1 year and it's offered at $495
6. No Options for front seating (colors) No leather in 501a
I think I'm glad I got the 24, the way I optioned it , it was cheaper than going to 502A

Just a couple notes:

3 - I thought the center step (Amp Research style) for the PAT was an option in 2024 too? You may want to check as if you want it, you may need to mention that to the dealer you ordered from.
4 - The order guide posts that the PB discount is national and still at $1900 so I think the build site has a glitch here. Same thing for the 502a discount of $2000. It is national but the build site does not work yet for this discount.
6 - I think that leather is gone for the Lariat altogether. The only mention I see for seat material is ActiveX (synthetic leather). I think King Ranch gets the leather. Pity really but maybe a boost for Katskins.

2024 King Ranch
The King Ranch secondary color is now "Marsh Gray". This makes the "Darkened Bronze Metallic" on the bottom of the King Ranch's a one year only production. If you have the darkened bronze and don't have the PAT (early build), This would make it even more rare.
Avalanche is now gone too and that was probably one of my favorite colors.

Also, the PowerBoost trucks can now get the "Max Tow Axle" (and the recalls that come along with it) although I still do not see nor understand the point of that axle since it is not mentioned anywhere in Ford's RV & Trailer Towing Guide.

Didn't Ford say they were streamlining the option packages in order to make it simpler and easier to build whilst also keeping the trucks cheaper?? at a nearly $5000 price jump from last year, what happened to the second part of that, you know, the "cheaper" part???

Err, wow!

I'd strongly prefer an F-150, but not $30,000 of prefer!

:eek::eek:

Heads Up Display requires Lariat High--the only thing in that $5,000+ over 501A package that interests me.

After which, adding the Bed Utility package for $1620 removes "Remote Start with Remote Tailgate Release". Huh? Why would it interfere with remote start.

Moving up to King Ranch, massaging seats are no longer available. Multicontor seats, yes, but Active Motion on them is no Platinum only. But it did keep the power running boards (frankly, I'd prefer to do an aftermarket set, hoping for two levels of step for my wife).

Anyway, $86k to get the massaging seats!

I'm really not sure what I'm gong to do at this point.

I want powerboost, PAT (or similar), HUD, lane centering, remote start, power tailgate, tilt seat, and massaging seat. Power running boards, whether aftermarket or factory (which would mean removing non-power boards that came with it!).

Would rather not have, but resigned to,, 4WD and supercrew.

Has the lariat always had “active x” interior? Or was it actual leather for 2024?

If you can get one...my 24 KR has been on order since 4 January 24 with no status change since March. "Quality hold" is the reason, but no one has worked on my truck, seen through the modem, which is active, since March. A good friend at Lincoln said that once it gets off track, it costs Ford more to work on it than it does to just forget about it and hope I go away...so I won't likely be getting it, or I will get it and it will be screwed up...and in the shop constantly.

Do not fret too much. The order guide is just that. It is a guide and is not necessarily gospel. For example, in 2024 the order guide didn't say the King Ranch came with massaging seats either but we all know it does. I have one and it does. Another point of proof is the "Darkened Bronze Metallic" paint color has been removed from the line-up and if you look on the order guide, it says that King Ranch's will have this color but if you go on Ford's website and build one in the configurator, it says "Marsh Gray" and the picture of the secondary paint color looks very different from last years picture.
Also the HUD isn't mentioned in the King Ranch on the configurator but is on the guide. After everything though, the King Ranch remains the better bang for your buck amongst the higher trims because it's starting price is equal to the Platinum but has the same options of the 702 Platinum already included.

The fold flat seats in all trims seem to have disappeared though but the biggest kick to the teeth (there are many of them actually) is the removal of navigation on XL, STX and XLT (300A/301A).

Beginning in 2024, the King Ranch has remained the best, most feature rich bang for the buck among all of the upper trims. My early build 2024 King Ranch has all of the bells and whistles except for the PAT (which I purposely didn't want anyway).

For 2025 though, it looks like the King Ranch has gone back to chrome mirror caps (looking at the configurator online) whereas my 2024 KR mirrors are body colored. I think I prefer the painted ones over the "chrome overload" version.

FWIW, the Order Guides used the term "Leather-trimmed" in reference to the Lariat seats for 2021-2024. That's been understood to mean 'leather seating surfaces' with synthetic material for other seat panels.

Reference to "ActiveX® Seating Material" absent mention of leather for the Lariat is new in the 2025 Order Guide.

Given that the Lariat 'leather' was never a super-premium grade, most of us may be hard-pressed to detect a meaningful difference. The 'ActiveX' might prove more robust and comfortable in the long-term.

( but it surely costs Ford less  )
