2024 F-150 STX
In Sep 2024 I picked up a 2024 STX 4x4 in Avalanche to replace my 2018 Raptor. I was bored with the Raptor and wanted to start from a base truck and enjoy modifying it.

I got the 2.7 because I knew I could never resist adding the supercharger to the 5.0 and I was over the issues I had experienced with the 3.5 in the Raptor.

The only real option the truck has is the rear locker and 3.55 gears. I needed the tow haul features so the dealer gave me a "we owe" on the OEM in dash trailer brake controller...still waiting

Here it is day one:

Scavenged as many parts off my Raptor as I could...floor mats, tonneau cover, running boards, rear under seat storage, lots of stuff!

Immediately ordered an XLT heated and leather steering wheel with my Ford points! Great upgrade and super easy. I still have to order the clock spring to get the heated function to work but the leather really takes a ton of the "cheap" feel out of the interior.

Added a 2" Rough Country leveling kit. It sits a bit higher than I'd like and this is likely due to the 2.7 engine being lighter than the other options.

Did a ton of research on here about tire fitment and went with a Maxxis Razr AT in 295-60-20 or roughly a 34" tall by 11.50" wide (an inch over the stock tires in both measurements). I chose these for price and knowing I would eventually swap to a smaller diameter rim. Only very minor rubbing on the inner fender liners at full lock...no other issues.

Next up was getting rid of the yellow STX side vents....merica!

I'm interested to hear if you can get the heated wheel to work on your STX. I was reading through some recent threads and thought that it was not programmable on the 2024+ models yet.
I've got a 2025 XL on order with my company and they're having us keep the trucks for a lot longer lease term now, so I'd love to put in my own heated wheel if possible.

Yes, I think right now it seems some of the 24 FORSCAN programming is still up in the air. I'm about to add the auto climate control and do the FX4 downhill assist control with rock crawl mode added...wish me luck

Good luck!
I somehow got to order a "104A" fleet-only package on my XL that upgrades to the powerboost engine, auto climate control, powered driver seat, tinted windows, and fog lights. Basically got upgraded to an STX, ha.
I'd just love a heated wheel if that's possible.

I have to ask... with a freaking garage like that and coming from a Raptor why the STX only add many features of a XLT?

Fair question! Its my buddies garage, although I do have my 2 post lift there (I relocated it from my old house when I moved) and do lots of work on my vehicles there!

And honestly, I just wanted a truck I could start from scratch on. I got $9k off MSRP and figured it was a good base to work with. And as this build will show, I'll get all the XLT options I want for pennies on the dollar vs. buying them with the truck.

Thanks...Amazon...they are a good deal and an easy install. You literally just pull the OEM vents off; they attach with push-in type clips and double sided tape and pop these in. Look at the pics in the Amazon link below and you'll see how they. You transfer your OEM metal clips over to these.

The only real issue I have at all is that they are not fully lined with 3M tape and or foam where they touch the fender like the OEM vents are. However, they fit well and a friend at work has had these same ones installed for 2 years now and they still look great.

thank you!! BTW, how are you liking the tires so far? Maxxis Razr AT in 295-60-20 did you lose any power? since they 34's. too loud on the freeway?

On my 2020 Lariat I did the 2.25" front lift and had the same squatting look. Didn't like it, at all.

Added a 1" lift block on top of the OEM block and made it look much nicer.

I rolled the dice on the tires...but lots of good info on here really helped picking the size. You can actually run this combo on this truck with no lift and it does not rub the crashbars!

They are heavy tires, I couldn't really find a tire I like that was not an E load range for the 20" wheels.

OE wheel and tire was 83 lbs and the Maxxis is 103 lbs. You can tell the OE suspension is working harder on bumps with the extra weight...

I definitely lost some MPG and have averaged 17.2 over the last 5k miles with them installed. I drive a 50/50 mix of highway and city in a very conservative fashion.

As far as power, no real noticeable loss...the 10 speed does a great job of keeping these engines in the powerband. It does downshift more frequently now to compensate.

I was very impressed with ride, handling and noise...they are not much louder than a BFG KO Allterrain and were a great deal on Simpletire.com.

Not quite that good but very happy with the deal. I was really sold when Ford decided to outfit all models of the F150 with the good center and drivers displays for 24. Now you can upgrade other interior features and not have the "cheap" looking smaller displays of old.
