This great feedback. I wanted to use Resonix Barrier or Resonix Guardian on the rear wall between the CDL and Fiber Mat but Barrier is on back order and Guardian at 1.375” would be impossible to fit and properly close the rear wall OEM cover.

I’ll be using Guardian on the walls and Barrier on the floor once I replace the vinyl flooring. The vinyl is not helping either with sound absorption .

The CDL itself made a big difference. The Fiber Mat as helped slightly with sound within the cabin.

Will update further once I complete the headliner.
Thank you. Try MLV on the rear wall only first and see if you can add some sound absorption material around that vent and maybe MLV in front of it without blocking the air flow. Based on my experience with other vehicles and my truck, I do not think you will find much gain in the floor except maybe the floor immediately behind the seats at the transition to vertical wall. The biggest difference I noticed in sound between my supercab truck and a regular cab I believe has to do with that rear wall either being closer to you, or the rear vent is different.

I'd drape a piece of the 'dynamat' over the top and the sides (like an upside down pocket) and let it breathe through the bottom.

That air vent is pretty large! The crew cab has 2 smaller ones at the sides. I bet the noise comes through easier around the center belt area. I've done just about every bit of the truck including the roof and it's amazingly quiet. It was great from the factory but I took it up notch.

The vent is huge. And a lot of noise from through it. I blocked approx. 50% of a sound absorber mat. Will block the same 50% with MLV once it arrives from back order. At 50% the noise reduction was significant without causing the A/C flow to struggle.

What setup did you go with on your roof, floor and doors?

I can try and build a box around it, there should space. I'd prefer to use some type of MLV for it.

Just used regular dynamat and a 4mm sound foam in certain locations.

Added Resonix CDL + Sound Absorber to headliner. Will apply Resonix Barrier later once it arrives. Dropped another .5db. The numbers don't seem like a lot but it makes a big difference inside of the cabin. Now you can hear clearly all the noise coming from the door panels/wheel wells and no noise coming from the roof or back wall.

Fully stock: 75.5 db @ 35mph
Resonix on Rear Wall: 71.1 db @ 35mph
Resonix CDL+Fiber Mat on Rear Wall + Resonix CDL on Headliner/Roof: 70.6 db @ 35mph

Here she is.

Took a while to find one, 99% of these were white, almost none had the V8 and the ones that did were short bed. I was after a long bed build for about a year now with the 5.0 and 4X4 setup. Found it and drove 4 hours same day to pick her up.

Already ordered:
  • Brink 20" B204 Wheels
  • Bilstein 6112 Fronts and 5160 Rears
  • Black Wheel Lugs
  • Side Vent LED Lighting
  • OEM Painted door handles
  • OEM Bed Lighting
  • OEM Carpet + Rubber Floor mats
  • S&B Intake
  • Shubby Antenna
  • OEM Leather Steering Wheel
Installed:
  • BAK Fluo MX4 Folding Tonneau Cover - Post #16 here
  • Resonix Sound Deadening - Post #20 here
Here are some pics!

75.5 db to 70.6 db is a 67% reduction in sound! Great job

It was my impression that anyone posting on this site with a regular cab was obligated to add a supercharger. Is a supercharger next on your list?
