If you have received your 2024 F150, please look at your paint and see if there is orange peel. Mine was delivered yesterday and inspecting it today I noticed the ENTIRE paint job has a significant orange peel. My salesman and I looked at all their other 2024's on the lot and they are the same. The other models on the lot DO NOT look orange-peeled. My wife's 2024 Escape is glassy. My 2021 F150 is glassy.

Here is a photo and you can see the blurriness of the reflections and the orange peel. How does your paint look?

Enlarge the image and the orange peel is very visible.

@bfastr every 2024 on the lot was the same. Wondering about anyone else's 2024.

A little bit of orange peel is normal for mid-grade vehicles. You're not going to get a Rolls Royce or even a Lexus caliber paint job on an F-150. That being said, if the picture is not being deceiving, your peel looks excessive, particularly around the reflection of that T-shaped light pole.

My 2024 avalanche has very mild (and what I would consider normal/acceptable) peel, nothing close to what that appears to be.

@24STX5.0 My 2021 has some same as my wife's 2024 Escape but all 9 of the 2024s (including mine) have this much orange peel in the entire paint.

I just went outside and took several pictures of mine. I'm including two where the peel looks the absolute worst in the pictures, highlighted by the sun reflections. Also, the truck hasn't been waxed yet, or washed in about a week and a half. I can tell you that these two particular pictures are deceiving, and that the peel doesn't look nearly as pronounced to the naked eye, so it is not a concern for me. If yours is a concern, you need to follow up with your dealer or the FoMoCo account here.

My 2012 was bad and had a lot of defects in the paint. I fought with Ford and the dealership for six months, but they repaired the defects. They wouldn't repair the orange peel.

If the orange peel is in the clear coat then it can be sanded and buffed to remove most of it. If the peel is in the color coat, then no. A good body shop/detailer can help. If it truly is as bad in the pictures show it to be, then that truck should not have been released and it should have been sent back for paint correction.

I’d try hard to return this. Any network body shop they use to repair this will be done as cost efficiently as possible and won’t last. It needs a $10K re-paint. Ford doesn’t lay down enough clear to fix this by traditional correction means. By the time this was cut down smooth you’d have nearly no clear left.

My 2024 Lariat arrived in April. No orange peel that I can find. My 2016 F150 did have a small amount of orange peel. Both Chevy’s I use to have between 01-16 had LOTS of orange peel.

It doesn’t need a full respray, it can be smoothed with 800/1000 grit then recleared. Probably $3-4K.
