Huh, so Lariat bumps to 5.0 standard, which means it’s no longer possible to get the 2.7 with 4A. I get the logic, especially as they previously deleted 500A and pushed Lariat up in price, but it’s kind of a shame how price-heavy the option of the 4A is getting and moving up a previously $995 engine option won’t help. Wish Ford would offer it as an optional extra on XLT. It’s not for everybody, but in snowy parts of the country it’s quite useful, and the 2.7 with 4A and 36gal makes an efficient all-weather long-endurance road trip rig.

I’d do anything for 4A during the endless northern wisconsin winter

My 56k 302a is now 67k if I build it equally equipped. (B&O audio and center console shifter) that’s insane

Regular Cabs got shafted. Yeah you get a 12' infotainment and full digi dash with 5.0 (ONLY) but you lose the XLT package and get a bumper from a 2017. Glad I got a 23.
Which sucks. I was hoping to order a reg cab XLT 5.0 with FX4. They took away a whole bunch of options from the XL for 24 as well so you can’t even get it with FX4 or carpet flooring.

Get a 23 if you can, the order window is still open i hear. My dealer was saying less than 10% of their volume are Regular cabs. Makes sense they'd "streamline" the options for such a small volume.

If you grab a used TC, the parts in total can cost as little as $1100 to make it happen. I don't think it cost me but $1k even in parts.

Such a disappointment to read thru these streaming changes. I am glad I have my 22 KR BP when I could order it the way I wanted (and before all the option deleting started) VS what appears to be a cookie cutter / one size fits all King Ranch package.
-No towing mirrors with the Hybrid (which makes no sense to me)....
-All KRs now have the sunroof.... which I would not want. Such a difference in noise in the cabin with a full headliner VS the thin cloth sunscreen that the sunroof has. Not the mention the know issues with leaking......
-No more KR Chrome package.... so painted bumpers that rust after a few years...especially with our North Eastern NY winters...
- What's with the 360 degree camera now having a subscription ?? For what ? That doesn't make any sense to me ....must be missing something....
And I could go on....
About the only positive is the Hybrid is now a no-cost option.
And it seems some of the deletes are back... multicontour seats, etc.....

Also glad I ordered & got my 23 XLT SuperCab with the 8 foot box..... can't buy any F150 with the 8 foot box unless you want the regular cab XL............shaking my head at these decisions .... they don't make sense to me and looks like I'll be keeping my 22 and 23 for more than my usual 2.5-3 years.... UNLESS this is a one year fluke and things change for 25s and beyond. Not hopeful on that.........

Methinks that a number of Ford's 2024 'option-package streamlining / simplification' decisions are less-than-attractive for some buyers.

Perhaps worth noting that the 2023 Order Banks are still open for a short while at least. ;)
Less attractive for MOST buyers i think, lol. i just tried to build a Lariat PB. No sport apearance pkg, chrome only 🤮 no tow mirrors, on the best towing F150 model, WTF?:mad: forced to take the stupid POS folding shifter (on my 2nd replacement) forced to take the "underseat storage" which just gets in the way, even when folded. i put tools on my flat load floor, dont want that silly pop up thing in the way.
i certainly hope the build configurator changes throughout the year, into next year. their packaging changes always make things easier for them... NOT the customer, and it's 6k more than my current 21' Lariat PB
