I would absolutely daily a truck with a stick shift. Too bad Ford hasn't had that in over 15 years :(
my 21 XLT is the first automatic trans truck I’ve owned.
base v8 manual trucks since the 70s.
Four years and 50k and I’m still looking for a clutch pedal.
My 98 k1500 and both hot rods are sticks

I like the one on my 2024 RCSB much more than I ever liked the one in my 2019 RCSB. I would have kept the 2019 if I’d had confidence in the transmission.

My 2019 sucked. My 24 was a major improvement. And after the last PCM calibration update it’s pretty good now.
My 24 is a vast improvement as well. Hope it’s just a quick pcm update.

I had a '22 and have a '24. Honestly, no transmission issues with either - combined 76,000 miles.

I don't think looking for the clutch will ever stop. I haven't had a standard in nearly 15 years but I still catch myself futzing with the shifter like its a manual.

I've only had one automatic, ever. All of my cars and Jeeps are standard shift. My new truck will take some getting used to !!

24 Lariat. Hard downshifting in the lower gears. Shudders at low idle while parked or at a stop in drive. I do have a pending PCM update, so hopefully that helps when it goes through. I'm going to have them change the transmission fluid at my next oil change just to rule out a fill level issue from the factory. 9800 miles.

I even tried to get the trans to act up today. Just drove messing with the throttle response. Couldn’t get it to miss a shift, hang up, or slam into gear.

I am a lot happier with this trucks trans than my 2019 I traded in.

21 Powerboost and I havent had major issues. Jerky shifts from a stop, up to 4th or 5th gear, got a little better in tow/haul mode. Changed fluid around 35k. It was low by about .5 or .75 quart, added in lubegard also. Idk if the new and higher fluid level or the lubegard helped the transmission. Or a combination of everything. Id just make sure the level is right. Not hard to do, plenty of helpful guides on the forum.

drive a 2020 at work. 93K and no issues. bought a 23 built in December of 23 in April of 24. I'm at about 4500 miles and all seems good. First 800-1000 seemed a little off occasionally but has since settled and shifts great.

I have a 2025, XL, RCSB, 4x4 0n order. I've read several articles and watched videos on the cause and solutions to the 10R80 issues. My question is, how are the 24/25 owners finding the updated transmission, ?
Thank you.
Took my 2024 F150 Lariat FX4 Hybrid 10 speed with 4700 miles into dealership because of hard shifting. Here’s their comments.

DRIVE ABILITY REPAIR: THE VEHICLE SKIPS SECOND GEAR, SHIFTING FROM FIRST TO THIRD AND JERKING. STATES THAT IT IS HAPPENS WHEN

10 DRIVE ABILITY REPAIR. THE VEHICLE SKIPS SECOND GEAR, SHIFTING FROM FIRST TO THIRD AND JERKING. STAFES THAT IT IS HAPPENS WHEN ACCELERATING AT LOWER SPEEDS.

IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THE TRANSMISSION SKIPPING 2ND GEAR IS NORMAL OPERATION OF A 10 SPEED TRANSMISSION. AS FAR AS THE HARSH SHIFT I WAS ABLE TO VERIFY THAT. I CHECKED FOR TSB'S/UPDATES AND FOUND NONE.

PULLED CODES AND FOUND NO CODES RELATED TO CONCERN. RAN PPT D FOR HARSH E CLUTCH APPLICATION. CHECKED FLUID LEVEL AND FOUND IT WITHIN SPEC.

RESET THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT STRATEGY, PCM KAM AND CLEARED THE ADAPTIVE TABLES THEN PERFORMED ADAPTIVE DRIVE CYCLE. FOUND CONCERN STILL PRESENT. THEN PERFORMED THE ACCELERATED MAIN CONTROL BREAK-IN CYCLED ALL CLUTCHES 3 TIMES THEN RESET TRANS SHIFT STRATEGY, PCM KAM AND CLEARED THE ADAPTIVE TABLES. PERFORMED ADAPTIVE DRIVE CYCLE AND FOUND TRANSMISSION NOW SHIFT AS IT SHOULD AT THIS TIME.

Did it fix the issue?
