Bought my PB Platinum about a week ago for about $7500 off MSRP including the $2000 rebate Ford sent me. In Florida the market for F150's that don't say Raptor on them has gotten REALLY soft. Saw one dealership sitting on 700+ trucks in inventory. I'd say they are looking to deal.

They also gave me $2000 ABOVE MSRP for the Bronco Wildtrak I traded in. Not bad for driving it for 7 months/8500 miles.

My local deaer has all his F-150s (including PB) 8000 to 9000 off. The glory days for them are over.

Great news for first time buyers. Mixed bag for those of us with early 2021 PB's trading up. If new PB's are $9K off sticker the used PB's will follow. Mostly a zero sum game.

That is good new in respect to the pendulum swing towards a buyers market.

But I'm not impressed until it swings all the way to where it was for several years when in my part of the country almost anyone could get 12k-14k off MSRP on an XLT 302A with incentives and discounts. Of course you were choosing from inventory and making a few concessions here or there on exactly the truck you might order.

Grab a MCA online membership for like $25 (next to the cheapest) and that gets you X-plan price after 90 days.

Then shop for on lot bargains or if you can't find what you want or want a Limited order exactly what you want. If you order be sure to compare Granger price (+ any travel) vs. X-plan.

You usually do get any incentives available when you order (either when you place the order or when you take delivery) - even with x-plan.

MY24 prices are anybody's guess.

Of the 44 Plats they have..... 44 of them are 5.5ft bed. Their buyer needs to be kicked in the shins....

Those arent sitting because they are the short bed. Ford sells waaaaaaay more 5.5 than 6.5, so there is a reason to their buyer's method.

Have you tried more than one dealer in your area? My closest dealer has dug their heels in on trying to still maximize margin since they are doing less volume. In turn this has hurt them more than the other dealers who realize that part of a peach is better than none of a watermelon. Now they have far more sitting in inventory, but rather than admit their sales strategy was flawed, they are staying firm and letting customers drive 15 min. to someone willing to deal.

I agree and understand that. But 44 out 44 is a bad ratio.
Everyone knows a longer wheelbase is better for towing and a longer bed is better for construction.
You RARELY will see a construction company using a 5.5ft bed.

Yeah, I don't see an extra foot being of much utility when even a 'small' trailer can add a 0 onto the amount of cargo being carried. It's either mass, length, or qty, neither of which 1' of bed does much for. 8' beds is a different story, but it's still not reliably hauling 12's and certainly not 16' or 20' cargo. Not to mention theft protection. Beds can choose security or utility / ease of use.

On the trailer front I'd rather have independent spread torsion axles vs another 9% wheelbase.

Your fleet is all 5.5s? That REALLY surprises me considering most are usually F250\F350s or 2500s\3500s and the F150s I see are usually longer beds with racks on em... But def different strokes I guess.
Im not in that industry but we do four Commercial construction companies and one commercial landscaping IT support and see fleets of Super Dutys or longer F150s all day long.
You can disagree all day long, its just you are seeing different than what I am seeing.
Moreover I am currently trying to sell my '15 Platinum and the first Q, I am asked is this...

and then walk, when I tell them its a 5.5ft bed. Just not a desired length in our area.

But you gotta admit when the pandemic led to the vast majority of trucks being built to customer orders/preferences, suddenly the number of 157" trucks increased.

Certainly everyone who wanted one didn't have to search or compromise.

I had 4 shortbeds in a row.
Ordered a 157
I won't buy another shortbed
Hard to describe how much that extra foot is helpful

What you are saying was what I was shocked to discover when I went to my local dealer. Crew cab 6.5’ beds didn’t exist, I didn’t plan on a super cab but that’s what I left with. Being a single 24 year old guy I didn’t need the crew cab but definitely wanted a 6.5’ bed. Would have loved to have both, but a 5.5’ bed is a deal killer for me. Only reason I passed on the CC
