2023 PB Platinum 701A standard tow equipment

Hello all!

I know there’s a ton of confusing information from Ford about tow packages. I ordered a Platinum 701a package that came standard with class iv hitch, trailer brake controller, smart tow connector, and pro trailer backup. Also PB comes standard with 3.73 and locking diff with 4x4.

I’m glad I didn’t spend the extra $$$ on the trailer tow package. I don’t know where it gives you added value.

I can take some more pictures and post them if anyone can direct me what to do. I’m not sure if there is any additional suspension or cooling systems that I am missing by not adding the trailer tow package.

It all depends upon your personal towing needs.

You need a tow package to get tow mirrors from the factory. Also, without the trailer tow package, you’re limited to 7000lbs of towing, per the Trailer Towing Guide: https://www.fleet.ford.com/content/...2023_Ford_RVandTrailerTowingGuide_r1_Dec1.pdf

If your towing needs are for small trailers only, I agree with you that it would be a waste of money.
