If you were nearing the time to order a replacement for your 2021 lease would you guys go sooner than later for a 2023 or wait it out for the 2024… with the intention to keep the new one until it dies??
Was gonna wait for the 2024 but then the news about 2400 parts being taken out got me all frazzled

Personally I am waiting for the 2024. Hoping I can get a complete Platinum vs the watered down 2023 version. Wishful thinking, I know

You might be able to wait and see if there’s a sweet spot for ordering a 2023 after the 2024 info. is released.

Granted, there might be a blackout of information until the 2023 orders are closed and even if they claim the 2024s have X available, it’s not like Ford hasn’t pulled the bait and switch so often that it’s almost expected these days.

Imagine wanting a ‘73 Mustang and then waiting one more year for the ‘74s to come out and all you can get is a gussied up Pinto!

Any credible information or guesses when the 2024 info is going to be released?

If you are buying a 5.0L or 3.5L Eco historically speaking there will be a power bump for those two.

Gussied up pinto lol. That killed me. They do tend to offer things and not deliver. Like the Rattler. I love those things. I seen’t a few really nice ones on Reddit.

When you say sweet spot, do you mean a lower price since the 24s will be more in demand?

I’ve been searching Google and Reddit for the 2024 Ford F150 literally every single day this year and nothing really specific has been released.

I’m really anxious to see how different the front end is going to look. I don’t know if it was a dream or not but I think I’ve already seen what the tail lights look like and they are very similar to the new expeditions.

But I’m mostly concerned with all the things they’re going to take away.

Lee Iacocca said it best. "Let me tell you how to kill a legend".

To the OP I would wait for the 2024 personally. The 2024 Ranger build was just posted on the web so the F-150 may not be far behind. That would at least let you know what the different models will have or not have.

I love my 2022 Lariat 502a but if Ford addressed "improved" just a couple of items, I might be tempted to look at another one.

I guess I mean more the overlap when they introduce the refresh but the old model is still available.

Kinda like if you really want a new V6 Tacoma, or a Ranger that doesn’t have the Maverick grille and headlights; now is the time to act!

Who knows, also they might really jack up the price of the F-150 with the refresh.

There needs to be a whole thread on this where wagers can be made! I will go with +5HP at 7,000RPM for the V8 and nowhere else! 😛

Usually they do more than that, our gen 5.0L V8 got +5HP but also +10 lb ft at a lower rpm. A lot more of a difference reworking the whole power curve than the 5hp meets the eye.

Gen 1 was 360 hp/380 tq
Gen 2 was 385 hp/387 tq
Gen 3 was 395 hp/400 tq
Gen 4 is now 400 hp/410 tq

Considering the latest Mustang is getting bumped to 480 horsepower for the base V8 and 500 horsepower for the Dark horse there is plenty of room to go.

The 3.5 EcoBoost is 450 horsepower in the Raptor and from my understanding the regular and HO now share mostly the same hardware so plenty of room to go there as well.

Gen 1 was 365 hp/420 tq
Gen 2 was 375 hp/470 tq
Gen 2.5 is now 400 hp/500 tq

Possible they stay the same since it’s a refresh, and that’s fine as they are great now. Just not historically what we see.

retired!
You've got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky?

On 12/22/2021 I ordered a 2022 Lariat SuperCab exactly to my 'dream spec'. In May 2022 it was delivered exactly as ordered (not a single 'forced removal' of any feature) at the price agreed when ordered (in spite of 4 intervening MSRP price-hikes, the first of those effective 5-days after I ordered). (y):)

Come 2023, that truck cannot be had at any price (no Lariat SuperCab, no Lariat 500A, etc) o_O

Whew, just pure luck that I didn't wait

YMMV as they say ..... Good Luck!

The 2024 should have bumper steps and a new tailgate design,,, if it is keeper i would want those options.

I’m anxious to see the color offerings on the 24’s. I don’t plan on going to a 24, but the right colors and options could change my mind.

I don’t trust these snakes. Any added power will only be on paper. And the price is definitely going up on the 24’s. @pedalude how you been bro? You’re one of the 14gen og’s. Always coming through with the most useful info
