Is it worth trying to change from factory halogen to factory led headlights? I’ve been seeing some stuff about needing to buy a harness? What all is needed to convert?

I bought Sylvania Zevo LED high and low beam headlights and a set fog lights for my 2021 XLT.

The headlights are/were guaranteed for five years and the fogs for three years. I registered on the Sylvania website to take advantage of the guarantee if needed

I bought them from O’Reilly’s and got a $20 rebate on all three sets - $60 total. The rebate is only good at O’Reilly’s.

Installation consisted of removing the halogen bulbs, plugging the LED harness in and threading the harness into the housing so that the cap could be re-installed.

I’ve had them installed for about a year with no problems.

The package says off road only but the truck has passed state inspection by the dealer.

If your just adding bulbs only, no, most bulbs go right in. Its changing the actual halogen to OEM LED projectors you will need a harness.

When I first got my truck, headlights were terrible. So got on F150leds.com and ordered their Low/Hi/Fog LEDs...WOW!!! Super bright. Worked great until I wanted a DRL, and black headlights. Then thats when I went to Alpharex, then to Morimotos.

But adding good leds to the stockers work. Below is stock headlights with F150leds.com setup

Installed these Auxito led bulbs on my F150 to replace the OEM halogens. Plug and play, take out old halogen bulbs, put these ones in and they work great. No fitment issues at all. Its as simple as replacing the stock bulbs. I adjusted the lights down a bit from the old setting but that may not have been needed for my truck. So far no on has flashed me. Light pattern is nice, really makes a difference from stock. No flickering or issues with DRL or fog lights. Everything works as it should.

I currently have the f150 LEDs hi/low, fogs, 3rd brake light, license plate, and yet to be installed running board lights. Got the reverse bulbs too, but didn't realize my 21' XLT has integrated led reverse lights. Oh well, my best friend has a 19' Lariat. Seems like it should fit, I'll find out once I go over there.

Headlights and fogs are amazingly bright. The stock halogen light output should be illegal lol.

All LEDs that fit into halogen headlamps are illegal.

But not enforced down here in truck world.

Brutal at night in my cars. Neither of which are taller than my waist.

I think the stock halogens do fine, on the dark roads they automatically turn on the high beams. The fog lamps light up the sides of the road pretty good. I don’t get the hate.

I don't know if I would call it Halogen hate, but the first night I drove a Gen14 Adaptive LED? It was Love at first sight. In all the years (50) that I have been behind the wheel of a truck, I hadn't seen the road lit like that.

Certainly not OEM

Oh ya the LED strip looks good. To be honest I prefer the blackout halogens to the reflector LED ones that are chrome from an aesthetic perspective. If I swapped in anything it would be the projectors on the Lariat+ because they look nice.
