Agreed.

Wonder if the connections will be there but just not have the heated mirror. If so one could possible get replacement mirror glass with that option from a 21-22 and swap them out. Provided Ford doesn't discontinue the parts all together that is.

I also heard new orders have a $1,000 higher base price, has anyone else heard this or am I being scammed!

Agreed... it is a safety enhancement feature.

I wonder if there's a shortage of those parts?

It’s more like $4k or so. I had a 22 on order. Was a PB lariat got pushed to a 23 and just the base cost before anything else was like $3800 more! I forget exactly but it was bullshit. Especially since I already had an order in for months before. I’m so glad I happened to be looking around last month and found a 22 XLT PB with like 3k miles on it at a ford dealer and got it out the door for about 56k! Yes it’s not a lariat but I could not pass up that price. And it is loaded. Even has the pano roof. Deals are out there that’s for sure. And at least I have heated mirrors. Lol.

My thought is yes all wiring will be there and you would just have to swap in the correct mirrors and do some forscan changes to tell the truck they are there. Should be easy since the rear glass defroster is tied to the mirrors. The heated wheel will be a bit harder but still doable. I’m planning to add one to my XLT one of these days. Not in a rush. With forscan it really makes adding many of these things possible.

Huh... that's strange. There has to be a reason behind it.

Well, no heated wheel would be a deal breaker for me. My arthritic hands say it's a "must have"

I've read the notice and realize it makes no distinction but IMO it'll be interesting to see if the heated-mirrors are deleted on both orders with the standard mirrors and orders with the optional larger trailer tow mirrors. I guess a strict read of the notice says it does affect both versions / all side mirrors.

In Central TX ice is rare, but both frost and dew in the early morning during fall / winter / early spring make me regularly thankful for the feature.

Just following out of curiosity, does not affect me either way. I'm very sorry for 2023 buyers who are apparently hit not only with continuation of late 2022MY forced removals but also a growing list.

It's a dreadful situation all around.

Just got this…..

I wanted to reach out and let you know
that Ford now says that they gained chip
availability for the heated mirrors feature.
However, the heated steering removal is
still required.

The lawyers probs got involved and as mentioned above…..lack of heated mirrors can be a safety issue. Maybe not. But I’m glad that one of these is back.

For this reason is why I cancelled my ‘23 platty order. Heated mirrors and steering wheel are must for me as I live in a crazy winter in western Canada. Basically the new platty is a lariat at this point.
