I added the 3.73 locker to my RCSB 5.0.
You get the better rear end, not just different gears. Bigger axles, beefier gear.

Will be better for towing, even if its just once in awile.

I will be adding a snow plow to mine once i get it. Just for my drive, but why not get the heavier duty rear at a crazy low price?

I think its crazy not too. At that price, I think folks are crazy for not getting it.

Im scheduled for week of 6/27. Can report once received.
I did the same as you figuring why not get the 9.75 for the same price. I think the locker cost me an extra 500 up here but I did use it a few times in the winter.

I got the 3.73 on my rcsb 5.0. I think the ten speed makes the finals drive gearing not nearly as noticeable as it used to be. It probably stays in 10th more when maybe a 3.31 or 3.55 truck would drop to 8th or 9th depending on grade and how much weight your carrying/pulling. I mostly wanted the 3.73s since I knew I would be putting 35 inch tires on. No regrets so far.
