I would consider a Limited if they offered the 6.5 bed.
My concern with a Limited is the extra weight that I'm sure comes with the extra goodies. I'm already stressed about towing with the lack of payload on a Powerboost Platinum versus the 2018 Platinum 3.5 I have.

Is there a lot of difference between a 701A and a 901A?

I may be worrying needlessly, best I can tell, curb weight difference is only 36lbs. Upon further investigation, no Max Tow Package would be the killer, rear GAWR is only 3800 lbs versus 4150.

I found a Limited near me this fall and captured the payload sticker - 1,348 lbs. max.

I would switch my platinum to a limited if they offered the 5.0 engine option and tow mirrors. I am sick of waiting for my platinum, if the new GMC sierra denali starts production sooner I will just get that instead.

I thought I would share this as some insight into what is getting scheduled and what is causing delays for the 2022 F-150s. This is based upon our retail orders and our total order count exceeds 100 units. So this is a good sample size of orders and should indicate what the delays are nationally.

Pros

Tremors
- After the long delay, 100% of our Tremors will have vins as of today!
Limited - Suprisingly, 100% of our Limited trucks will have vins today as well!
Total Production - Overall 2022 has gone much smoother than 2021. I think this is a reflection of Ford having a better handle on the chip shortage and a realistic idea on flow of chips for production. While it isn't what anyone would like it to be, i believe manufacturers have a better grasp on what is going on.

Cons

Platinum
- These F-150s are our highest demand trim, this combined with the high chip demand has caused this to be our slowest scheduling F-150 with only 12.5% of our overall Platinum demand receiving VINs as of this morning. I would encourage you to step up to a Limited as there seems to be less demand if you'd like to get a nicely equiipped truck more quickly. The other option would be to step down to a 502A F-150 without the Black apperance package.
XLT & Lariat Black Appearance Package - This is on material hold currently. I don't have an ETA for when this will get scheduled, but this is not available ASAP.

XL - 100% Scheduled
XLT - 100% Scheduled (Excluding Black Appearance Package)
Tremor - 100% Scheduled
Lariat 95% Scheduled (Excluding Black Appearance Package)
King Ranch - 10% Scheduled
Platinum - 12.5% Scheduled
Limited - 100% Scheduled

* No XLT, Lariat or Platinum Black Apperance Packages have been scheduled

As a reminder, we are placing new F-150 orders at 3% Under invoice with a $180 doc fee.
XLT's are NOT 100% scheduled--I have been delayed for snow plow prep package, that delay has now been removed and I am delayed for the 5.0.

I believe Zach was quoting for a 12/2 date and what their dealership orders looked like at that time.

Yeah that is old info. They have since even had some Black Appearance trucks scheduled.

@Granger Ford hoping for an update on this week. Were there a lot of vins after the holidays?
The 13th we received some scheduling. Platinum and 601A king Ranches are still the biggest delays.

We did get some 700A platinum trucks scheduled if that is something suitable for you to switch to.

I'll do my best to post some updated information. I've been out sick for a few days and I'm trying to catch back up.

We did receive 28 VINs this last week. Encouraging to see some King Ranch and 700A platinums get VINs. Still 601A and 701A bringing the slowest scheduling.

I guess I got very lucky. I ordered a 5.5' bed 701A on 11/16/21 and it was built on 01/08/22. It has adaptive steering, moon roof, FX4, max trailer tow, interior work surface, fold flat seats, 7.2kVa Pro Power, spray in bed liner etc.

Nice config, did you order it through Granger?

That was pretty much my order. Except, I did not add adaptive steering until 12/4/21. Congrats!!! Post pictures once you receive it.

Question: Would X-Plan orders hold anything up on 2022 models? What about X-Plan pricing? Do dealers have access to these yet even though consumers do not? Thanks and I hope you feel better.
