Yes on the fans. I am jelly.

Also gave some thought on @Snakebitten’s point on the high iat of the stagnant air sitting in the intake tract while in EV mode. Hopefully the Powerboost, where we gained a negative, the ev gives back.
the EV side will supplement power for the time it takes for the hot air to clear out, and by the time battery is taxed, the cooler fresh air is there.

best case obv would be cool air and EV supplemental power.

there’s my glass half full for the day

I don't really consider the high-indicating-IAT with no air flowing through the motor to be heat soaked. You can be cruising at 35 mph or so and still show IAT up near 90 degrees on a 50 degree day. The second the throttle is pushed all of the stagnant air is gone by the time the gear kickdown is complete. Outside of the turbos / heads / intercooler fins, it's all plastic which is slow to take up heat and release it. Heat soaked is typically used to describe a situation where there's no recovery overhead ie: high/hot/heavy ecoboost towing where there's no more radiator left and engine/trans temps are 200+.

The intercooler alone likely provides very marginal benefits. All of the intake piping would need also need to be replaced. That brings the price closer to $1500. As for the level of performance it provides, it's likely along the e30 / stock components realm (as in e30 tune on stock = e10 perf w/ intercooler+piping swap). As for a fan on the intercooler, that makes sense for a raptor in its element, off road with lower speeds. For road usage I couldn't see it having any impact sans heavy traffic, but that's a self defeating situation on its own. Not even road course race vehicles use them.

We all have different use cases to consider as well. The piggyboost isn't exactly suited to being a drag vehicle. It's 35% heavier than a SC'd RCSB w/ driver. My typical weight is 6400lbs. Stock with a 93 perf tune, the trans is still the weak point. If tomorrow I entered the intercooler market, I'd bench all of the competition including factory and advertise against them all. At best we see anecdotal claims which leads me to believe that the benefits are marginal. With LMS for instance, if you tell them you have their intercooler they may simply give modify the tune ever so slightly to provide the appearance of utility. I'm not saying that's what they're doing, but I'd put a few dollars on it.

I just did mine with the CV Fab V2 intercooler, along with removing the annoying hybrid alarm sound thing (with the alarm delete plug)

It went on well, but you will need to remove the entire active air grill.

Do you notice any performance improvements?

I did the cold air intake and Borla exhaust at the same time, so it's hard to tell.

One thing I 100% would add is an oil separator. I only have 13K miles, and the intercooler pipe was covered in oil, so I added the J&L separator.

(I ordered the wrong dual-sided one from UPR, and the company's customer service team basically ignored me when trying to exchange it- that's why I went with J&L)

You can see the one I added in the back by the brake fluid.

Did your seperator work for both the left and right pcV lines On the EB?
