Good news for Canadian orders…. Was looking at 2022s listings on interior and have come across a few diff pics of 2022. It appears the Canadian orders still get LED license bulbs as well as the LCD screen on the temp controls. Link to the listing is here

I don’t believe this to be a 22. Job 2 21? Unless they didn’t install the last ear sync 4 software in it. Vin number is the only way to know for sure

Goes to show you, ain’t a supply issue. U.S.A. customers just getting unnecessarily squeezed out of a few nice accessories on their 2022s while Canadian customers get to retain them. #BS

Unlike 2021s, Box Lighting is no longer standard on the following 2022 F-150s:
- 500A / 501A / 502A (Lariat)
- 600A (King Ranch)
- 700A (Platinum)
Must be added via the Bed Utility package (68L) when ordering. Includes power tailgate, tailgate work surface, tailgate step, BoxLink, and LED Box Lighting ($995).

Box Lighting is standard in:
- 601A (King Ranch)
- 701A (Platinum)
- 800A / 801A (Raptor)
- 900A (Limited)

Box Lighting is restricted to the Bed Utility package (68L) for 2022 models. Cannot be added, unfortunately, a la carte. Additionally, there is currently no available kit for the dealership to add Ford’s OEM LED Box Lighting post delivery. ????
F150leds.com looks like they have a better on anyway

You can see that this truck also has the original valve to open and close the vents that the 21s have as well. 22s apparently don’t have that. In order to close the vent you have to just push it all the way to the right.
So that’s another difference for Canada that didn’t change either…. Unless these pics truly aren’t from a 22 somehow

A blend date of 1/5 and already at a Canadian dealer with pics taken by 1-15?
Bunch of Ontario dealers around me have already taken delivery of trucks built 01/03 or later. Mine was built around them and still sitting somewhere, waiting for delivery.

We’re only 3 hrs drive from Dearborn so it’s a straight shot for delivery after the border.

Well WTF is Fords reasoning for removing them from the American market then?

It's all cost savings measures to hide our ridiculous inflation, Canada is already paying more for their trucks.

They might also just be burning off old inventory in the Canadian market. If US buyers found 'some' trucks had extra stuff, there's more explanation required and the 'Chip Shortages' can't be blamed.

One of the things that nobody has mentioned though; is if these are the cost saving shortcuts that we can see, what are the ones we don't see?

I would be a lot more concerned with machined tool steel parts being replaced by castings or case hardened bits. Missing numbers on knobs is one thing, having engine parts wear out prematurely is another thing entirely.

@JHForman812 and I have been wondering the same all of these features are just the tip of the iceberg of the cost cutting.

I had my truck at the dealer yesterday and was looking at a 2022 that just came in. It has retained everything the 21’s had I’m up in Canada also. So it seems it’s true about the Canadian models.
