1. ~$100 in parts: easy day.
2. Cutting out Line-X pieces: not too bad.
3. Learning FORScan, getting license & connectors: Uugh.

May wait until I’m inconvenienced enough to justify the effort.

No matter what: Hats off to @Genoz everyone!!! Bravo. Bravo.
@Genoz
So Line-X guys properly installed the bed liner - the did not cover over the cargo bed light and button plugs. I pulled the plugs out and there doesn't appear to be any wiring behind the there. Where do the ML3Z-14A411-F and ML3Z-14A411-D plug into?

Funny thing is that I didn’t even give him a VIN, only the part numbers.
I appreciate all your info. I’m driving cross country on Thursday so this project is on the back burner.
@Genoz
Are these the correct parts?

Look below the rear bumper at both ends of the bumper. On mine there was a plug with a dummy plug installed at each end of the bumper. This is where those jumper wires plug into.

This should get moved over to the Lighting Mods forum, so people can actually find it.

They are the parts that I used. And they worked for my truck which is a 22 F-150 Lariat with Trailer tow package, zone lighting, etc.
Same for me: MY22 PowerBoost Lariat with Trailer Tow package.

@Genoz, these dummy connections (picture inserted below)?
If so, this looks too easy not to try. Literally plug-n-play (+FORScan of course).
Thanks again for you help with this!

I installed Ford parts
ML3Z-14A411-F drivers side jumper wire from existing plugged connector (dummy plug) at drivers side to switch and lamp.
ML3Z-14A411-D passenger side jumper wire from existing plugged connector (dummy plug) at passenger side and connecting to passenger side lamp.
FL3Z-9C888B. Switch at drivers side reaf of bed near bed lamp.
JL3Z-13A756A Bed Lamps.
I made the forscan changes you have listed above. These codes are the same for a Super Duty.
THE LIGHTS WORK!!!!! the switch in the bed turns on the bed lights and the upper bed light at the upper brake light and the light in the tailgate for lighting the trailer area. The switch on the headlight control area does the same! They both will turn all those lights on and off.

If anyone needs the two jumper wires, I have one each extra from all my ordering trying to get them. If you want them make an offer.
Gene...

I’ll take the wire jumpers if you still have them.

Question on behalf of the ignorant: what is the difference in functionality with this aftermarket solution compared to the factory parts route?

Cheers

These are factory parts, so they work just like when it's spec'd.

You just don't have to buy a $995 Bed Utility Package to get $120 in lighting.

Great to hear! I received all connectors/pins from Digikey to make up my own wiring harnesses. At first glance they all appear to be perfect matches for OEM. I'll be doing that in the next day or 2.

Just to be specific, you did all 4 Forscan changes ?

Yes. I did all the FORScan changes. Worked perfectly. They are also identical to what is used on the Superduty.

I’ve got a 2022 XLT, I took the factory lights and wiring and plugged them into the plugs under the bed and they don’t work. Anyone have any ideas on why?

Sorry to bother. Just want to confirm these are the plug locations you speak of.

Because nothing is plug and play. Read up a few posts and you’ll see. I’m in the same boat.
Dealer has to enable or use FORscan.

Do you know what part number for the harnesses you used?
Was the lower left, where it plugs into the existing harness, a male or female? Mine is F-F and won’t work.
