Bed lights aren't included in 402a. You would still have to spec the Bed Utility Package specifically.Ready to move out on this but some parts mention not being functional with those two features. Have a 22 Tremor I just got…without the lights that were supposed to be in the 402A package…
I have the exact same values as you, and there is a Lariat I am using to compare to my as builts that DOES have the bed lights and has the exact same values. Hopefully this will be a “plug and play” mod for me with no forscan updates requiredAlso, weirdness: I did not need to change this line:
726-46-01 xxx* xxxx xx--0=Disable 1=Enable
Nor did I need to change it as the spreadsheet would have you think for Bed_Lamp_Cfg (BLC)
726-46-01 xxxx **xx xx--00=Disable 01=Enable
I had:
And did not change the 8 to a 1, nor did I change the second group to 0100 to jive with the spreadsheet.
726-46-01 03E8 0000 1171
Before any FORscan, the button in the bed turned on/off the CHMSL cargo light. The button controls the bed lights now with the other three FORscan edits.
I think I copied something else into my own version of the spreadsheet I keep that made me think the first four of 46-01 needed editing. It was just the "ENABLE". I'm still thinking that might be a Zone Lighting line.I have the exact same values as you, and there is a Lariat I am using to compare to my as builts that DOES have the bed lights and has the exact same values. According to livnitups as built spreadsheet, those first 4 bits in the 726-26-01 are BacklightingOpHoldTime_Cfg, and had nothing to do with enabling or disabling anything. Am I missing something?

You're correct, I got a little overzealous lolI think I copied something else into my own version of the spreadsheet I keep that made me think the first four of 46-01 needed editing. It was just the "ENABLE". I'm still thinking that might be a Zone Lighting line.
You will still need FORscan to do the 71-01 and 81-01 lines. As I did say
I have the factory wiring with the dummy ends in each corner (XL/STX 101a). I ordered the parts as you said. Removing the factory blank covers was interesting. Routed and attached the two pigtails like the factory without removing the tail lights. Set the 4 FORSCAN settings in the BCM, and let there be light! Works perfectly! Thank you Gene!I installed Ford parts
ML3Z-14A411-F drivers side jumper wire from existing plugged connector (dummy plug) at drivers side to switch and lamp.
ML3Z-14A411-D passenger side jumper wire from existing plugged connector (dummy plug) at passenger side and connecting to passenger side lamp.
FL3Z-9C888B. Switch at drivers side reaf of bed near bed lamp.
JL3Z-13A756A Bed Lamps.
I made the forscan changes you have listed above. These codes are the same for a Super Duty.
THE LIGHTS WORK!!!!! the switch in the bed turns on the bed lights and the upper bed light at the upper brake light and the light in the tailgate for lighting the trailer area. The switch on the headlight control area does the same! They both will turn all those lights on and off.
If anyone needs the two jumper wires, I have one each extra from all my ordering trying to get them. If you want them make an offer.

Double check all your Forscan changes.Hey all, new to the forum and owning a brand new truck. Also new to Forscan. I’ve followed this forum for advice and decided to join.
To the point
I ordered and installed the bed lighting that my Lariat did not come with and to my disappointment it didn’t work. That lead me here. I have Forscan now and their recommended OBD link. I attempted to get the bed lights working today changing the 4 parameters as outlined in this thread. To my disappointment they work only when the ignition is on. I found information on page 5 regarding this and changed the 726-46-01 xxx8-xxxx-xxxx to a 1 as mentioned. This did not fix my light issue but instead made the interior lights non functional.
Any insight would be much appreciated.
Double, triple and quadruple checked. Even programmed back to as built and then back again. I spent 4 hours yesterday reading through different settings in different modules and through the excel sheets for as built changes. Nothing I found changed anything.Double check all your Forscan changes.
These are the settings I used in the Body/BCM. Mine works fine ignition on or off.Double, triple and quadruple checked. Even programmed back to as built and then back again. I have 15 years of industry experience, have owned and operated my own repair facility for the last 7 years. I am by no means a stranger to programming modules but I am a Forscan newbie. Not to say I could be missing something. We are all still learning.
I believe there is another setting somewhere in the BCM or elsewhere that is not allowing the bed light circuit to remain active when ignition is off. The switch continues to work to turn on the cargo light.
Thanks just ordered the parts this should make it easier.Just completed this everything is working.
Step 1. Remove the plastic plugs.
Step 2. Remove the tail lights, attached with two 8mm screws
Step 3. Attach wiring harness to the bed lights with the connector and Xmas tree plug.
Step 4. Snap into place, take note as they are directional (top is labeled).
Step 5. Feed cable down the chase. Oval area is where the white clip will go.
Step 6. Remove the two dummy plugs. Black drivers side, tan passenger side.
Step 7. Connect the wiring harnesses to the two plugs you removed the dummies from.
Step 8. Make the forscan changes, and crack a beer.
