It's getting to be that time of year ladies and gentlemen. With a great find from our own @succeed23, we now have the first draft on the production timetable for the end of the 2021 model year and the beginning of the 2022 model year.

Looks like the conclusion of the 2021 model year will run into September. If you want to place an order for a 2022 Ford F-150, the order books open 09/15/2021. Similar to the 2021 model year, the Claycomo plant runs about a month behind Dearborn.

Here is the estimated production timetable listed below:

Per Friday's FDNB (Fleet Distribution News Bulletin), the updated scheduling and production timetable has been released for the 2021/2022MY F-150.
  • 2021 Ford F-150 End of model year dates:
  • 06/04/2021 - 2021MY Fleet Final Order Due Date
  • 09/02/2021 - 2021MY Last Day to Spec Change (DTP)
  • 09/30/2021 - 2021MY Last Day to Spec Change (KC)
  • 11/14/2021 - 2021MY Balance Out Date (DTP)
  • 12/05/2021 - 2021MY Balance Out Date (KC)

  • 2022 Ford F-150 Beginning of model year dates:
  • 09/15/2021 - 2022MY Order Bank Open Date (DTP)
  • 09/15/2021 - 2022MY Order Bank Open Date (KC)
  • 10/14/2021 - 2022MY Scheduling Begins (DTP)
  • 10/14/2021 - 2022MY Scheduling Begins (KC)
  • 11/15/2021 - 2022MY Job #1 Date (DTP)
  • 12/06/2021 - 2022MY Job #1 Date (KC)

****THREAD UPDATE****
Also confirmed via an additional source, FordAuthority.com;

https://fordauthority.com/2021/06/2022-ford-f-150-order-banks-scheduled-to-open-in-september/

" The company’s production plans that 2022 Ford F-150 order banks are currently scheduled to open September 15th, 2021."

" Production of the 2021 F-150 will end on November 14th, 2021, at the Ford Dearborn Truck Plant and December 5th, 2021, at the Kansas City Assembly Plant. Production of the 2022 F-150 is scheduled to begin at the Dearborn Truck Plant on November 15th, 2021, and at the Kansas City Assembly Plant on December 6th, 2021 "

It appears the original information was pretty close to being dead on accurate in most regards...

Here is the scheduling for the 2020-2021 model year for comparison:

https://www.f150gen14.com/forum/thr...duction-dates-order-guide-order-bank-info.61/

For 2021 trucks, the order bank opened July 15, 2020, and they are not taking orders for the 2022 trucks until September 15th, 2021.

The first round of Job #1 at Dearborn began October 12, 2020 while Job #1 for the 2022 model year isn't expected to begin until November 15th, 2021.

That makes ordering about two months behind, and production about one month behind schedule. It seems as if they are holding off on opening the order books for the 2022 model year until later so they can get caught up. The tentative date in November for job #1 of the 2022 F-150s isn't too far behind the 2021 production year given how bonkers the year has been for supplies and overall production.

Probably will shake out to be one of the most bizarre year to year changeovers of all time. I’ve barely even seen 21 F-150s on the roads, let alone large amounts sitting at the dealerships.

What will they even change? Make the grills slightly different, put one more stamped line on the tailgates and call it good?

Meanwhile, the 2021 Tremor and Raptor options aren't available to be ordered yet...they aren't even on the build and price tool. "Coming Summer 2021" ? How will the ordering for these models work??

Does anyone think there will
be many cosmetic changes to the 2022? I would think no but you never know. I’m waiting on a 2021 Platinum and if they changed the wheels I would probably wait haha.

2022 402a tremor with front torsen differential sounds like a plan, since the front torsen is “late availability” anyway.

I’ve noticed that too. I see a lot of 2020s but rarely a 2021.

It is coming. 2021 Raptor was always Job #2. They will still be coming this summer.

For me.. I will not cancel my 2021 order to step up with a 2022. the Chips outage will still be here and the same scenario will happen with 2022 line-up. Minor to no change between 2021 and 2022.

I'd bet the only change would be the already announced new payload and ride options. But not really a change if it will appear on July produced 2021s.

The major difference will be a new VIN code and increased resale value on the '22's. And a price increase.

At this point, I would tend to agree with those of you saying keep your 2021 order. Trying to get a 2022 would put you at the back of the line, and the chip shortage is estimated to have impacts for at least another year an half, well into an possible past the 2022 model year.

I was thinking about wanting a 2022 of my order as well if it took too much longer. If they started producing them in June/July as they typically do, I might of. But the 2022 production not starting until much later makes my 2021 the “latest and greatest” that much longer!

I’m waiting on a 21 platinum too! Pushed to 8/20 delivery now! 100% with you on the wheels! Huge tire profile doesn’t help!

What was your ordered date? Mine was 03/15. No fabrication date available yet.
