Stopped by my dealer today to drop something off. (Note that I picked up my ‘21 Platinum last Saturday which I had special ordered).

My sales guy told me that Ford told them yesterday that they could no longer order any more ‘21s. (He did indicate that that dealer does have a lot of orders in the queue though). Said he was unable to do anything until the ‘22 orders would roll out. He also seemed to think that ‘22s wouldn’t come out any time soon (like late Q4). This wouldn’t seem legit to me and would be devastating to dealers. I’m sure he is only receiving partial information.

Obviously their are a lot of manufacturing and supplier issues, but this seems extreme and honestly not very believable.

My memory is a bit foggy but I think usually Ford doesn't stop taking current model year orders until May however with last year and this year so far has being like no other, anything is possible. Also your dealer is right about 4th Qtr availability. I believe next model year production usually starts in August and the trucks start rolling onto dealer lots beginning of October but again this year may be a bit different with all the commodity issues Ford seems to run into.

I think may be confusing the 150 with the 250/350. Rumor has been that the Super Duty interior is getting a facelift. So the '22 change over could come earlier.

MY21 Super Duty orders ended 3/14 (or around that date). MY22 Super Duty orders started at that time with builds starting in June. The only interior difference is the 12" screen available on Lariat and above trims. The didn't give them the updated F-150 interior, just rearranged the dash to allow for the 12" screen. MY23 will be Super Duty redesign... supposedly, but the timing makes sense.

According to this article last year the order book was closed May 29th. https://fordauthority.com/2020/05/2...uction-dates-pushed-back-for-the-second-time/

I ordered my truck February 15th and if I don't have a vin number by April 12th I'll cancel and reorder when the 2022s are open. I don't want a truck that's one of the last ones made in this model year, I waited too long for it. I can wait a little while longer for the next model year because there is always something improved in the latest model.
