Test fit the wheels today. They came in yesterday so I wanted to make sure they fit right before the tires get mounted on Monday. Can’t return them after tires have been mounted.
They fit perfectly! American trucks had them listed as a “stock” offset. They are more like a flush fit which is what I really wanted.

Drove out in this today to take the rims to the tire shop. “Slippery” mode came in handy!

Tires are mounted! With all the snow we are getting, they might need to hang out in the garage until Spring.

Tint on the side windows is done. I had them matched to the factory rear so they are only about 20%. Just enough to knock down the glare without leaving me blind at night.

The lowering kit installation is scheduled for 2/21!!! Can’t wait to drop it, drop it, drop it low!?

It really accents the chrome.

I was watching some YouTube videos today and decided that I’m going to remove the active air dam and motors before I drop my truck and tear them off.
I’m also going to remove those goofy looking guards from in front of the rear wheels. I can see those getting ripped off flying down the highway. In order to cover the holes that will be left behind. I ordered two low profile plastic pieces that Ford offers. The part numbers are in the picture if anyone decides to do the same.

Stone guards
UPS brought me two stone guards today from carid.com. I had a short window before the rain came so I rolled out on my knee scooter and mounted them up. (Yes that’s my Ford blue cast reflected in the pictures) The stone guards definitely look better than the dangling participles that the factory put on.
There’s a total of three 7mm screws and a panel clip on each one. Part numbers for the replacement parts are in a post above and the pics below.
Oh, and please don’t mind the road salt. Winter will be over in a few more weeks!

Wheels are on!
Today my son helped me mount the new wheels to get ready for the drop kit to be installed tomorrow. Im still in a cast so his help was invaluable.
The wheels are Black Rhino Kunene 22 x 9.5 +30 offset with 285/45 R22 Proxes ST III tires. The American Trucks website shows them as factory fit but they are clearly flush, maybe a slight poke. They should really fill up the wheel wells nicely with the 3/5 drop.
Im dropping it off at the shop tomorrow (Monday) and will pick it back up Tuesday after the install and alignment are done. Updates will be posted then!

Finally home!
Finally got my truck back! Sorry for the dirty pic but I won’t be able to wash it until I get out of this cast next week.
Right now, compression and rebound on the shocks and coil overs are in the middle of the adjustment range. I’m going to play with them to soften up the ride a little bit. The tech said the 3/5 drop came out closer to 3/6 due to it being four wheel drive. The back end was crazy high before the drop.
As of now, the ride is a huge change. The truck feels like it’s glued to the road. I had a load of the old parts and the spare in the bed on the way home. We will see what it’s like once all of that is unloaded.
Overall, I’m thrilled with the outcome. The stance is so much better! More pics to come once I get a chance to clean it up. Snow and ice coming tomorrow…
