My 21 hasn't had an update since October, which was Recall 21B37. I'm not sure how to tell what update I'm on, but the SYNC version is 23159_PRODUCT Revision 915.

21 Job 1 March of 21. My last update was August 23. I'm doing the Mongoose/FDRS this weekend to see if I can get caught up.

I bought my truck last August and the crappy H-6 battery was causing problems. I bought a new (better)battery and all the problems were fixed except no updates since 4.2.1. My truck is on wifi parked at home. I have the 30,000 service next week so I’ll talk to them.

I have a 21 I purchased six months ago that has not had updates in a long time. I think I’m having battery problems also. Was curious on what battery you end up going with on your replacement?

I got 3 updates last week and currently sitting at 6.5. I did get a notification Tuesday 6/13 that 6.8 failed (was never told an update was on it's way or pending) and would try again at a later date. Went to see if it was available for manual update and truck says I have no updates available. Also the failure notification in FordPass app is gone.

I went to Auto Zone and bought the best H7 they had. The tray will take an H8 but that is overkill for my needs

Pretty sure I’m still stuck on 3.7.4 or whatever the hell version comes after the actual CarPlay updates. Haven’t gotten an update in months.

Piss poor feature and bringing it up at the dealer is pretty much always pointless.

Edit: Nvm, I’m actually on 4.2.1. But point still stands. I’ll probably get up to date once I get around to buying a Super Duty.

One of the reasons I bought the '21 Ford Powerboost was the OTA feature. It turned out to be a flop. I haven't received any updates since September. That might mean I'm completely up to date but I doubt it.

If that's the case, then the update failed due to some kind of server issue or file mismatch. If it failed due to low SoC, the OTA trigger would still be active and it would try to install for 30 days before it times out and fails.

Oh okay, kinda wondered what happened but wasn't overly concerned because the only other failure I remember was sometime in the first 12 mos of ownership. I think that happened like 2 times within a week then it finally went through, but been too long ago and this old brain doesn't even remember what update it was 😅

In 3 years of Powerboost ownership, the Mongoose amortizes out at about $14 month, at this point. With a few FDRS weekends, let's round it up to $20

About 3 cups of fancy coffee

Ford's OTA folly and dealership shortcomings aren't going to foul my ownership experience. Certainly not with that small of a toll-fee workaround.

Besides, it's kinda been enjoyable to participate with the forum collective as well as the benefit of learning a lot about the truck.
