Hello Folks,

Ok, I usually just quietly read in communities but am very excited and curious about ordering a 2021 F150.

The Dealer I talked to here on the west coast didn’t seem too knowledgeable and is trying to place my order....

First of all I really don’t want a 3/4 T truck due to ridiculously low MPG and comfort reasons but need the payload for a pop up truck camper.

A 2021 F150 build as XLT Gives me 2740lbs payload as a crew cab with 4x4 and 6.5 bed. Unfortunately I cannot get the sport cloth with it which is the only interior option I care about along with LED or HID headlights ( why Ford???)

Anyway, sorry for the lengthy post but..

What are my chances of getting it by February 2021 as trucks with HDPP seem to be so rare...

First of all welcome to the Forum of suffrage F150 nuts. Glad to have you come out of the shadows. Lol

HDPP will be built in KC, they are looking at 30 Nov before they achieve OKTB status, which must happen before retail orders will start to be scheduled.

Try asking your dealer to do a stock order the way you want before next Thursday. If he has allocation it could get picked by Ford then and within a week you could have a VIN.

As long as there are no holds on your options, I think you could expect by Feb, no problem.

Hi Curry Bob,

Thanks a lot for the warm welcome!
I placed my order with a local dealership on Wednesday. They took a $500 deposit and told me that they’ll send an official order confirmation in the next couple days. I just followed up with an email and told them what you had suggested.

Dealerships here in Los Angeles seem really spoiled (apparently too much business) but I had some luck to find someone that seems to care.

I’m also happy to see that the medium skate grey doesn’t seem to be too bad as I’ve seen on the other post with pictures.
I was already planning how to change the upholstery if it looks like the Gen13 interior some of the rentals and loaners had...

I still don’t get why they limit such simple options just because of HDPP

My guess is and I'm just guessing, with the heavy duty being produced only at KC that may be why their is more of a limit for interiors. If it didn't have the HD then would be produced at Dearborn, then there may be more interior options available. Really not sure other than that.

Good luck with your order!

Which dealer did you use? I ordered with South Bay.

I got a VIN for my HDPP XLT Screw 6.5 today! (Already added it to the tracker)

Ordered the truck 11/10

I‘m really curious when the truck will be built, any ideas?

I changed my order to remove everything I can get aftermarket (tonneau cover, running boards etc.) to get the highest payload. Hoping for somewhere around 2500lbs ( should be 2640lbs for a naked XL)

Can’t wait to put a pop up camper on it and start traveling !

I’m also really hoping I can retrofit the big screen and the led headlights.
With the HDPP you can literally add next to nothing in terms of options...

Ok i couldn’t wait anymore as I was told it may not be build until April....

I was also a bit upset that I couldn't add any important options such as good sound system, led lights or painted instead of chrome bumpers to the F150 HDPP

I pulled the trigger on a 2021 F250 Powerstroke... and absolutely love it.

Its the better option for the truck camper we will have.

The Diesel with the 10 speed gets almost 20mpg on the highway.

Arrgh  I looked at too many Chevys , which I couldn’t help but not like driving

The build Quality seems also better and I wasn’t partial to Ford but now probably am.

The F250 rides and feels much better than the 2500
