So I just bought a brand new 21 2.7 eco last month. I have about 1.6k miles on it now. Half of which has been towing a 14' trailer with a mower. (I know I am not supposed to tow during break in). My question is, is it a good Idea to go ahead and get the oil changed? The dealer recommends 7.5k miles. I will probably do 5k miles once it is past break in. The dealer is also not recognizing a (break in period) They treat a new truck the same as a truck with 100k miles when discussing intervals. In my mind, the motor internals are going to wear in after factory new and that will cause more than usual debris in the oil. I am thinking I get it changed right now assuming everything has wore in, in an effort to get the excess debris from the break in out of the motor. Thought it would be good to talk about. Let me know what yall think.
