@Blue22 I'm still waiting to install this on my truck but I have all the parts waiting to be installed and the lower bumper trim painted. The total for all parts + paint was $2,235.27

Ouch! I think I will keep trying to find a used one. I still can't understand why that skid plate costs so much, but it sure makes the front end look so much more aggressive. Looking forward to seeing how it looks.

Go through Fairway Ford Parts. Much cheaper. I have about $1300 wrapped up in my install.

It sounds like they gave you a cost or close to cost price, as well. Prices have gone up, though. When I first got it quoted through my hook-up at a Ford dealer months ago, the parts were $1,200 at cost. I waited a few months as at the time, I could justify the expense for some cosmetics on a perfectly good truck, and now that I am ready to move forward, the parts came out to $1,302 (not including tax which I am not being charged as I am having my dealer buy the parts from his).

To everyone else: I agree. I don't see why the skid plate is so darn expensive.

@Agate_5.0 I guess I screwed myself over because I ordered everything except the skid plate from fordparts.com and the skid plate I got shipped from a dealership in Alabama. I've bought from Fairway Ford Parts before I just never thought to go through them for this. Thanks for the tip.

I am trying to install the skid plate on my 2022 4x2 but the back of the skid plate doesn't seem to line up with any holes in the cross member. Would anyone who has done this mod be willing to take a photo of what it looks like under your truck? @Agate_5.0 @VG3 @w0014075

I got it all to work and have been driving with it for the past couple weeks with no problems whatsoever. I had to make a couple small brackets to span the gap between my cross member holes and the skid plate holes. I also cut the bolts by about a half inch so they wouldn't hit any metal in the cross member. Apart from those back two bolt holes not lining up everything else bolted right up without any issues.

I took my truck to the body shop to get this installed today. I only ordered on of the two brackets needed to mount the skid plate on to the truck.

I had them order the other one, but it won't arrive until next week.
